“95 percent effective in preventing Covid-19”

That’s a flat lie.

Well consider this (how to lie with statistics): Odds of NOT contracting Covid19 based on the ORIGINAL Pfizer Clinical Trial of 43,488 volunteers (roughly 21,744 vaccinated, 21,744 placebo): 99.4% - only 170 of 41,000 contracted Covid.

Odds of getting Covid19 AT ALL (vaxed or not): 0.6%'

Odds of being protected from Covid by just going about your normal life (placebo group only: 99.21%

Where does the 95% come from? Well there were 8 cases in the vax group and 162 in the placebo group from between 7 days and 6 months. Odds of catching Covid in each group: 8/21744 = 0.037% (vax group); 162/21,744 = 0.745% (placebo group).

Effeciveness: 0.745 / (0.037 + 0,745) = 95%

While there was a measureable difference between vax and placebo, your odds of getting Covid at all were so small (0.6%) that the 95% "improvement" from that vax could NEVER outweigh the possible and unknown side effects from the vax so early in the trials.

And of course NOW we know that the vax is implicated as a contributor or outright cause of untold millions of severe side effects (including death).

Hmmm 95% effective ... for a disease you were already 99.55 unlikely to get????
