FBI: Idaho teen arrested day before he planned ISIS-inspired attack on church

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — The FBI on Saturday arrested an 18-year-old in Idaho for reportedly attempting to provide material support and resources to the Islamic State group.
The arrest came one day before the suspect was allegedly going to carry out a series of attacks on Idaho churches in the name of ISIS.
Alexander Scott Mercurio, of Coeur d'Alene, allegedly pledged allegiance to ISIS and planned to carry out attacks on churches in the city on Sunday using "knives, firearms, and fire," according to a statement released by the Department of Justice.
"The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force conducted the investigation and thwarted Mercurio’s violent plot," according to the statement. "Mercurio is currently in custody awaiting his initial appearance which will be set by the Court."
U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland said in the statement that the teen "swore an oath of loyalty to ISIS" and that he's been charged with attempting to support the group's "mission of terror and violence."
According to an FBI affidavit, Mercurio had reached out to a confidential source online and showed support for ISIS.

How many months did they spend 'encouraging' this lone wolf? The FBI needs to spend their time on big issues - like getting city and state crime reporting standardized. Like writing a 'Style Book' that defines how situations are dealt with - their current style book says, 'If the person is a Republican treat them like a criminal under all circumstances' . If the person is a democrat kiss their butt and give them passes. (These acts and stupid choices define the FBI as corrupt and dirty' - on the take.)
Another 50 suggestions starting with broken windows and going after those 'breaking windows' (metaphorically) to degrade the culture... but that's another reply...

Half of Idahoans are armed all the time. It probably goes up to 75% of people attending services are armed.
