Florida just passed a law that may actually be a good thing for squatters. Now we can call the cops to remove them same day, it is said. Without this law it’s just easier to shoot squatters under the existing no trespassing and stand your ground laws.

Homeowner: There are robbers/burglars in my house that appear armed and are threatening me!

 

911: What is your address?

 

Homeowner:  9123 Castle Drive.  SEND help FAST!

 

911: Please try to stay calm.  Police have been dispatched to this location.

 

Homeowner:  Tell them to hurry!

 

911: They are.  Only 15 miles away from you right now.

 

Homeowner: ARRGH! there a LOT of them in my house!! 

 

911: Do you have a shotgun?

 

Homeowner:  Yes, I'm loading it right now.

 

911: Our President has indicated that if you rack off a couple of rounds into the air it will scare them away.

 

Homeowner:  And then I'd not have enough shells left to protect myself if they charge me!

 

911: Can you find a place to hide?

 

Homeowner:  I'm in a closet  NOW.

 

911: Please try to whisper and remain quiet.

 

Homeowner:  {I heard them outside the door!}

 

911: The police have informed me they are at the entrance to your subdivision and waiting on backup.
