CNN — In perhaps prosecutors’ strongest rebuke yet to how Judge Aileen Cannon has handled the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump, special counsel Jack Smith said in court filings late Tuesday evening that the judge had ordered briefings based on a “fundamentally flawed” understanding of the case that has “no basis in law or fact.

“… has “no basis in law or fact...”
He just described his case to a T.
IIRC-—SMITH was IMPROPERLY ASSIGNED to this case by Garland.
Was ‘appointed’-—NEVER confirmed by Congress.
Is that like applying for a driver’s license——but NEVER taking the tests???
Judge should issue a gag order against Smith.
Who the f does this little rat think he is? This is a Federal judge he is addressing so disrespectfully.
Or book sales?
He’s writing for the media and the pundits to report on. And also wants to win at any cost.
Smith is out of line here. There are many different laws and sometimes they conflict. Smith wants the judge to ignore the statute that allows POTUS to declassify documents and to declare which documents are personal. He wants the judge to nullify some of the defense arguments.
It does brighten my day, how about yours?
Smith is maneuvering to directly challenge and have Judge Cannon recused for bias by the appeals court.
He may lose the case because of his mouthing off about the Judge. Remember Avenatti? Poor guy went to prison, lost his license and can no longer practice law.
He's a hired thug attorney, a dime a dozen.
Always remember Avenatti. He is the benchmark to what happens when you are disrespectful.
Judge who went after Trump on the property values gagged the lawyers on trump’s side. It can be done.
Rick Grenell said the same thing. He apparently worked with him in some form overseas.
That could be appealed. If she let’s it go to trial, but with good (for Trump) jury instructions and he is then acquitted... there is no appeal.
