Biden administration approves enormous wind farm off the coast of Martha's Vineyard as part of bid to drastically cut emissions by 2030

President Joe Biden's administration announced Tuesday their approval of another large offshore wind project off of the coast of Martha's Vineyard, despite ongoing legal battles to block similar projects.

The Interior Department approved the New England Wind Project, a planned commercial off-shore project roughly 20 nautical miles south of Martha's Vineyard and 24 nautical miles southwest of Nantucket, Massachusetts.

The planned wind farm would include up to 129 wind turbines off of the coast of the island, the location of some of the wealthiest homes in the United States.

'The New England Wind project will help lower consumer costs, combat climate change, create jobs to support families, and ensure economic opportunities are accessible to all communities,' Interior Secretary Deb Haaland said celebrating the news in a statement.

Haaland pointedly noted that former President Donald Trump's administration had delayed the production of offshore wind energy.

Trump opposes wind turbines, repeatedly mocking them for destroying the environment, killing birds and whales, and ruining the views of coastal homes.

'Put the windmills up and watch the value of your house — if you’re in sight of a windmill, watch the value of your house go down by 65 percent,' Trump said during a speech in 2019.

If you’ve gotta build one of these boondoggles, then right off of Mathaaaaaahs Vinyaaaaaahd is the perfect place for it. Build it nice and tall! Cover as much of the water there as possible.

Let the locals have the Gaia worship they support and let ‘em have it good and hard.

They’re not “wealthy homes.”

They are homes of wealthy people.

When you hire the illiterate to teach English composition, the result is gibberish.

In unrelated news the Chinese are building a coal burning power plant a week, eliminating any hypothetical CO2 reductions from the Marxist Vinyard plant.

Why there? To provide power for the elites there when the grid goes down?

More, more, send them more! Ruin their views, flood them with freeloading illegal alien criminals. That is the best that I can hope for rich yankees.

You can bet Obozo get a cut on anything associated with gov’t funding. This farm will only kill coastal wildlife, whales and other species of sea wildlife. Most of all it will have no beneficial impact on Climate.

“Boy is Obama gonna be pissed! Maybe the US administrative state is bigger and stronger and more influential than even Hussein Obama. And broader, even, than Michelle’s behind.”

Sounds like it’s on the other side of the island from the Obama estate. It won’t impact their view.

Yep, which is where the population centers are.

More of these worthless “projects” mainly provide contracts from which they can grift taxpayers’ monies. Clown World corruption.

Suppose these massive offshore wind farms get built and are suppling a significant amount of power to the local grid. Hurricanes are not unknown in that area and even a small hurricane would devastate these wind farms. What would make up for the loss of power before these wind farms could be rebuilt? The recent hailstorm in Texas shows the vulnerability of solar farms to weather damage. Wind farms are particularly vulnerable to adverse weather damage as they are clustered in areas of most wind. High winds can literally rip those massive blades off or cause the windmill to go into overdrive tearing it to pieces.
