Biden campaign eyes victory in FLORIDA in 2024 by making it ground zero for abortion rights: Democrats plan to go to war over reproductive rights in Trump's home state (that DeSantis also won by 20 points)

Democrats are eyeing Florida as a state they can make gains in as it is on the verge of having one of the strictest abortion bans in the country and abortion rights will be directly on the ballot there in November.

The Florida Supreme Court upheld the state's 15-week abortion ban on Monday and paved the way for a six week ban to go into effect in 30 days. Six weeks is often before a woman knows she is pregnant.

The ruling was met with outrage by Democrats and abortion rights activists in the state and nationally, but it could also be an energizing issue going into the November election.

President Biden called the decision outrageous on Tuesday.

'Yesterday’s extreme decision puts desperately needed medical care even further out of reach for millions of women in Florida and across the South,' the president said in a statement.

'This decision means that millions of women in Florida and across the Southeast will likely live in an even more cruel reality where they face a choice between putting their lives at risk or traveling hundreds or thousands of miles to get care,' said Vice President Kamala Harris, who has taken a leading role on reproductive rights in the administration, in a separate statement.

Those are the local/state level polls from November. The usual suspects also have similar results, if you can tolerate Pew, etc.

One day after the Florida supreme court green-lit the abortion amendment (yesterday, April 1), Debbie Blabbermouth Schmuck had Hakeem Jeffries in Broward county. My guess is they were publicly plotting the “abort as many babies as possible” bandwagon.

If we can believe polls, this referendum to liberalize Florida abortion law could pass.

In Kansas, the vote was 59%. In Florida, it must be 60%. Florida is more liberal, or at least socially. So Florida will get 60% they need for abortion.

Many of those Republicans may not like this court order. They may vote for Biden.

Abortion is a key issue with retirees and geriatrics. Free love and all that.

It's the reddest region of the reddest state in the country. Read this and decide yourself.

I wouldn’t doubt it considering all the locusts, I mean leftists, moving from New York and other leftist states they destroyed to Florida.

My prediction, Epic Fail.

Like clockwork. Since they are losing on every front, make abortion the main issue. Republicans take the bait which in turn motivates a down in the dumps leftist/democratic base. Democrats turn out en masse, because nothing motivates leftists like killing babies. Republicans lose ANOTHER ELECTION.

i don’t doubt the state’s system - but wonder if Broward is now squeaky clean?

I know about The Villages. Almost moved there.

My post re STDs referred to stats 20 years ago.

The fact remains that few of the seniors care about abortion. And, as you said, it’s very red there. That’s why I am suspicious of the stats which say that there’s such a high percentage of pro-abortion voters there.

Dems saw what Karl Rove did in 2004 with gay marriage vote and took notes. Rove and crew wanted social issues on the ballot, Dems say sure, we will play.

They won’t win FL, but they are desperate for ANYTHING to get folks to get motivated, and turn out so I fully expect them to make Abortion a huge issue as they can.

This is why they are pushing for Sotomayor to retire (IMHO) Even though Democrats can name and appoint at will anyone since they have 51 votes in the Senate, they will INVENT a fight, and try to time it as close the the election as possible.

IF I had to say how, well, I’d say you have Manchin who is retiring, say he won’t vote to appoint anyone near the election.. Now you can create the appearance of a fight, time the Sotomayor replacement to happen as close to election day as possible and gin up your base to show up..

At this point, I fully expect there will be a staged battle for a supreme court justice in October, just to have it influence the election

The one thing DeSantis did right after he became Governor was negotiate both Broward and Palm Beach counties election supervisors to leave and two new competent ones took over, that’s why in 2022 Florida counted and reported the results of 7 million votes before midnight and everyone went home

Right, we must allow illegal immigration because Americans aren’t having enough babies, BUT abortion is somehow “good” because they aren’t children, they are “choices”.

I hope he never says that, but it would mean very little if he did. Pro-abort skanks will vote for Brandon no matter what.

good to know - we here in Cali know that the election machinery can appear kosher - but if the processes of the counting are not monitored for irregular behavior, unusual deliveries in the dead of night, etc what appears clean may be dirty indeed. here we are often kept far from the counting logistics - and can’t really clean up because of the death grip of the cheaters on procedures and accessibility regs.
