Johnson says Ukraine aid will come up ‘right after’ recess and will include some ‘innovations’

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said Sunday that he expects to move a package including aid for Ukraine with “some important innovations” when the House returns from recess.

In an interview on “Sunday Night in America With Trey Gowdy,” Johnson stressed the difficult position he’s in, with a historically narrow House majority, but said he was working throughout the current work period to come up with a package and plans to put it on the floor when the House gavels back into session.

True enough. But they need the refined product to put into their engines of war, which is why refineries are a priority target for Ukraine. The further back the supply line has to go to avoid drone attacks, the more vulnerable it becomes. It’s why the Russian navy has had to dock in Georgia instead of Crimea, because Ukraine keeps hitting Sebastopol and other points on the peninsula. They can’t fight heavy, so the Ukes are fighting smart.

Zhang Fei, you seem to know these things.

Some military journos like David Axe say that if Biden wanted he could send expired munitions that still work like 900 expired MGM-140 ATACMS the US has at only the cost of transportation and the transportation could also be taken care of by an allied country.

Do you know if it is really that simple or if David Axe is talking out of his behind?

Hiding out from some of the less attractive circumstances in the US, and especially California, yes. There is virtually no crime or squalor here in Northern Spain. The good life is also quite a lot cheaper.

But more to the point, is the actual point. Your response is a deflection from our point of disagreement. You were saying that the reserve tanks and etc. would be required should the US need to mobilize for an intervention in support of NATO.

So , I said, why not ship them over now? They would be of much more utility being here this year than whenever the US gets around to creating a conscription system. You have not responded to that.

True. That is indeed part of the point. Russia still has its railways though, and presumably can keep its military fueled regardless, at the cost of other priorities.

The other part is to create a general fuel shortage in Russia. There will be downstream economic consequences if refinery capacity can be driven low enough. There already seems to have been very limited spare capacity before this campaign began.

Well, railroads are the most vulnerable things of all. All sorts of unpleasant things can be caused to happen to speeding trains, tracks, bridges...

Just ask Buttigag.

The US isn’t giving any money to Ukraine at the moment.
And the Europeans have covered for the loss of the cash part of US aid.

What Ukraine really needs currently isn’t money, but very specific weapons and ammo, ASAP.

If we are dealing with a military logistics system under wartime conditions, railroads can be repaired quite quickly. The US problems in fixing anything are largely red tape.

Yeah. That be so. But it gums things up and is yet another way of f@#%ing with the enemy’s head.

And why are we supposed to give Ukraine anything?.. Biden took and now paying back?..
Biden and congress has spent us into us so much debt it’s going to give us problems..
We have an open border with millions coming in.. No record of who they are.. And seemingly, taking care of Ukraine before taking care of the United States.
We are weakened by bidenbarry and what they have decided is important and what isn’t. It is unthinkable to take on Ukraine and Russia with our open boundaries bringing in anyone who would threaten the nation with terrorism.. For God’s sake.. Who in their right mind would do what that administration has done.
I have family in El Paso and their lives are nothing normal.. No one in the administration lives in the mess they brought in.
At any given time.. With millions of undocumented here among us.. Hell could break lose.. They not only did not protect the people, they have no idea who is in our midst.
I’ve lived thru more administrations than most in FR..
.. Never Seen such absolute lack of doing anything right.. And putting this United States in jeopardy of being taken out.
This is what insanity is.

1. The US is suffering from many concurrent problems, or threats, domestic and foreign.
2. The US is also committed to numerous long term policies, both domestic and foreign.

Your objection is therefore incoherent. It ties problem A to threat B, which are in no way related. I could, say, object to increases in Social Security COLA due to aging of the population, which increases Medicare costs. Would that make any sense?

No doubt the current US leadership is dreadful. But that, again, is not directly related to policy. Would you end the F35 program on the grounds that Biden is corrupt and senile? Or shut down the VA because it is not, er, ideally run?

The threat they have brought on surpasses other things that might be on the front burner.
Biden and Obama.
We have never had that combination in charge of this United States. A senile old man and one who came to fundamentally change our country.. He is not a patriot.. If the republicans had set up the perfect storm in this manner, all the other side and the media, would have had a royal fit and not let it happen.
Today the media is having a fit about Trump and Christians bringing Christianity into politics.
My age and what I know from living thus years.. I am about to the end of endurance with those who are just ignorant on anything but what their sphere is today.. Those who are taking God out.. This nation was built on biblical teaching and they want to remove our greatness to suit their empty beliefs.
To hear them aghast over Christianity and politics.. How ignorant and anti God, they are!
Parents are raising children today.. Loose and whatever.. The government is doing likewise.. Loose, no laws, no accountability..

I am not myself, inclined to emotional reactions. But I do understand your point.

The better way to deal with this is to take note of the positive. The mainstream media is vastly less influential now. They are concentrating on pleasing their remnant audience, not the majority. In spite of the extremism and idiocy they dont seem to have dented Trump. Quite the opposite apparently.

Look for the good, and avoid catastrophic thinking.

I’m beginning to think that mommy lies so much, that he/she/it is really the tranny Sarah Ashton-Cirillo aka Michael John Cirillo, former spokesperson for Ukraine.

After reading you and Mommy Dearest posts, it is clear Mommy has not been
very truthful. She was caught in multiple untruths.
You posted the evidence. Very clear who has been untruthful.
Then when confronted she had to leave…quickly.

It’s either my son has covid, my husband’s leaving for the airport, my daughter’s sick, my son’s fiance is at the door, blah, blah, blah.

When the air gets hot, mommy has plenty of excuses to flee the kitchen.
