Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg couldn’t give a time frame Sunday for when debris from the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse will be cleared from the critical mega US shipping channel.
“We haven’t received a timeline yet,” the country’s top transportation chief told CBS’ “Face the Nation” of the massive expected clean-up of the wreckage from the destroyed Baltimore span, which runs roughly 1.6 miles over the Patapsco River, a key transportation route that handled a whopping $80 billion in cargo last year.
“This is going to be a very complex process, there are even now forces acting on that steel,” Buttigieg said. “So it takes a lot to make sure that it can be dismantled safely to make sure that the vessel stays where it is supposed to be and doesn’t swing out.”

If they asked Biden he would talk about the time he and Beau cleared up a wrecked Bridge before Beau went off to Iraq.

It’s about keeping the container ship in place? I don’t know, how about an anchor? Tug boats? Push boats? Those are too complex? Lame excuses to figure out how to clear a blocked channel? Now it’s really sounding fishy.
Even if Buttigieg were the most competent Sec’y of Transportation, which of course he isn’t since everyone knows his name, he wouldn’t have any idea when the debris would be cleared. At least he didn’t try making things up.
Yesterday I saw a video that said a gas pipeline has been discovered under the bridge wreckage which halted any attempt to remove anything. I have no doubt that other surprises might be in store.
DEI may not have caused the bridge to collapse butt it will delay its rebuilding.
Trump would have had a complete project plan and timeline in place by now.
With Biden, it’s hire the mentally disturbed and observe how they turn gold into lead.
Boot edge-edge had better have the Key bridge wreckage removed IMEDIATELY. The supplies and ordnance for three US Marine Expeditionary forces are pre positioned in the Port of Baltimore and they have no way of getting them out.

It’s been almost a week. If I was the Sec of Transportation and not fake nursing my pets, I would know about enough about the situation and the viable options by now to at least give a worst case estimate, like clearing the channel is the top priority and will take no later than a month. “I have no idea”…jeez, what’s he good for?
No one else knows either. The collapse was last week. It took nine months to clean up the debris from the Twin Towers. There is now a mile long span of bridge underwater in Baltimore Harbor It is too early to tell.
