My uncle had a laundry on 20 on east side. Cousins lived nearby and went to Rockford East. That was decades ago. I was at Iowa at same time as Nolden Gentry from Rockford West. A great basketball player and good man and lawyer over the years. A west side success story...for a change.

Fred VanVleet of the Houston Rockets is a Rockford native. He graduated from the same high school as I- Auburn HS. He in 2012, me in 1972.
Lots of other good stories here, but they don’t get the sensationalism and attention like horrible crimes do.
