Just heard on scanner monitoring Baltimore City Fire: there were 20 construction workers on the bridge at the time of the collapse.

The Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland which crosses the Patapsco River has reportedly Collapsed within the last few minutes after being Struck by a Large Container Ship; a Mass Casualty Incident has been Declared with over a Dozen Cars and many Individuals said to be in the Water.
I have lived in Maryland. This is huge. The bridge is part of the Baltimore Beltway. Now, traffic from I-95 North going South will have to travel the west side of the Beltway or go through town - the only way around it. Also, this will blockade the harbor for some time to come.
WTOP, the premiere news radio station in the Baltimore/Washington area, has confirmed this.
“ WTOP has received word from petty officer Matthew West from the Coast Guard in Baltimore that it was a container ship flying under a Singapore flag that crashed into the bridge. The vessel, called “Dali,” was headed through Baltimore to Colombo, Sri Lanka, as its final destination, according to Marine Traffic and Vessel Finder maps and data.”

The video shows all spsns of the I-695 bridge have collapsed.
This is the outer beltway bridge that takes you up by Essex.
Terrorism shouldn’t be ruled out at this point, but it’s an odd time of the day to carry it out. If someone’s going to go through the trouble, might as well do it during rush hour to maximize casualties.

Williams for some weird reason believes that at 2:45 am there would have been many vehicles on the bridge. He’s just a dope. The real story as best we know right now is that there were around 20 construction workers on the bridge, but otherwise very few other vehicles. And the newsbabe was saying that the ship caught fire and sank, but there are photos from the last few minutes that show the ship sitting upright and apparently well above the water. Plus, the channel there is about 50 feet deep and this was a very large cargo ship, which would have been much taller the. 50 feet, so impossible to sink much anyway.
The fact the two of them, working for an allegedly “major” news channel, were far less informed that an independent guy on YouTube is a disgrace, but then are we really surprised?

This makes it appear deliberate, as other cargo ships would have passed underneath mid span.
There are reports that there may have been attempts to stop traffic on the bridge as the ship was approaching the bridge, which may account for there not being a lot of traffic on the bridge at the time it collapsed

A suspected terrorist ( don’t tell me this does not look like a terror attack ) crashes his foreign made/flagged ship full of imported Chinese crap into a US bridge. You can’t make this stuff up. I am sure Chinese steel will be used to make the new bridge.
