Looks like the ship’s lights went off, or were turned off about a minute before the hit...
You can see the ship lost power, twice. Look at the smoke stack, blowing coal. I’ve been across this bridge a few times. Heading to Inner Harbor from Pennsylvania.

Yes, that webcam video is the best view of it I’ve seen so far.
It’s definitely leaves more questions than answers. It’s not like this was a bridge in the middle of nowhere with bad lighting at night. The bridge was clearly visible, along with it, supports from both the bridges lighting in the lights of the nearby buildings.
