That ship would not have fit under the bridge in any case; its floating too high.

They probably used editing software to lighten the images since everything is digital photography now.

Baltimore Harbor, Francis Scott Key Bridge buoy FSKM2 is still functioning:
Wind is 8 knots, gusts to 21 knots
Water temp. 42.8 deg F

Does anyone else find it odd that an X user just happens to be recording the passing of a ship and it’s impact on the bridge?
A conspiracy leaning person may consider this event as part of O’Biden’s war on American infrastructure ...

Yep, until they clear the wreckage all shipping is trapped in the Port of Baltimore, and the Port is closed. And the bridge wreckage won’t get moved until the National Transportation Safety Board is done with it’s initial investigation.
I assume it will follow the same basic pattern and procedures as the Sunshine Skyway Bridge accident.

Right, a fully loaded container ship going to dead stop takes one or more miles to end its forward momentum.

See my above post. It was a preexisting webcam displaying the bridge. Not uncommon these days.

If it were terrorism, wouldn’t it have happened during rush hour? Doubt that this is terrorism. DEI, maybe.

Just like the Tampa skyline bridge back in the ‘70s.

CORRECTION
Baltimore Harbor, Francis Scott Key Bridge buoy FSKM2 is still functioning:
Wind is 8 knots, gusts to 11 knots, from the east
Water temp. 42.8 deg F

MOst high tonnage ships have at least one tug to take them out on slack tide. Now the tide is incoming, about a foot they say. Fox had a retired Navy Seal on and he mentioned just that. Evidently, shipping companies don't want to pay for the tug unless it is a requirement.

very true.
Plus if you watched the exhaust got very black, indicative of a diesel under a very high load. they were trying to stop, but at that weight and speed no way, in that short of distance.
They were doing 12 kts.
Remember your physics, F=MV.

A fully laden container ship that large going fast, as reported, would have still taken the bridge out fender or no.

Calm down. The ship lost power at least twice. Watch the longer video. Stupid/inexperienced sailors.
