The French will die for love.

The British will die for honor.

The Americans will die for freedom.

The Russians will die.

BS! One does not seek peace by invading another country.

One doesn't seek peace by engineering a color revolution and overthrowing a democratically elected government, either, or by reneging on a signed peace agreement.

The government in Kyiv was and is legitimate. If Yanukovych had been overthrown by a coup, as you characterize it, the proper response would be to call new elections, not to secede. National elections were held, twice. Donbas could have fully participated if not for Russian occupation. With those two elections, any justification for Donbas secession disappears. Nor does it justify Russian intervention.

By the way, your use of “Kiev” rather than “Kyiv” shows yourself as nothing but a Russian apologist.

Is that what happened in Georgia and Moldova? And why Vlad is saber rattling at Poland and Finland?

Weird...

Whatever the characterization of Yanukovych's overthrow, there have been two national elections since, election in which Donbas could have fully participated if not for Russian occupation. So the excuse of the so-called coup no longer exists.

As for signed peace agreements, it is Russia, not Ukraine, that violated the Minsk accords by failing to withdraw its forces, handing over the border to Ukrainian control, and blocking the referenda than Ukraine had planned. For its part, Ukraine, despite Russian propaganda, fulfilled its obligations by passing the law of autonomy for Donbas and by planning to hold the required referenda, which Russia blocked.

That's like saying "Whatever the reason for the murder, there have been two national elections since..."

Non sequitur. We disagree about the nature of Yanukovych’s overthrow. But that disagreement does not change the fact that there have been two national elections afterwards. So even if I were accept your premise that Yanukovych’s overthrow was an illegal coup, it has no bearing on the legitimacy of the present government.

Why would you participate in elections conducted by the people who defecated on the result of an election your side won?

BS... In all 3 cases, Moldova, Georgia, and Ukraine, “separatist” groups backed by Russia were used to justify Russian military action.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Because elections are the way that political disputes are settled peacefully. Let's not pretend that the protests against Yanukovych were just fomented by some sort of CIA magic. Yanukovych betrayed his own electoral mandate by bowing to Russian pressure and reversing himself on the Ukraine-EU agreement. Nor can you pretend that you are protecting democracy by having an ethnic minority use foreign assistance to overthrow the local government in its own military coup.

People who would conduct a coup to get their way would have no problem stealing an election to get their way.

You just want them to legitimize your coup by voting in your rigged elections.

Do you really want to make this justification for the invasion by Russia, the home of the show election?

So you admit the Ukraine "elections" are rigged!

I made no such admission. All I was doing was showing the absurdity of your rationalization. Russia and its supporters are hardly in any place to present themselves as the defenders of democracy. Nor can any internal dispute be the justification of Russia’s invasion. Just admit that Russia invaded because Putin and company do not accept Ukrainian independence, and that you support Russia’s attempt to reestablish its old imperial borders. Don’s waste your time with ridiculous justifications.

TRANSLATION: Rigged Ukraine elections are OK because Russian elections are allegedly rigged.

Putin has been seeking peace.

LOL. That is such classical Kremlin Bolshevik gaslighting. Only the dimmest bulbs are duped by such nonsense.
