Are you talking about the Orange Revolution which took place in Nov. 2004? This was between Yanucovych and Yushchenko with Yanucovych saying he was ahead although that differed from various polling predictions. Much confusion, demonstrations, and revotes took place.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_the_Orange_Revolution

On Jan. 10, 2005, “ the Central Election Commission of Ukraine, in a live TV broadcast of the Commission meeting, officially announced that Viktor Yushchenko won the presidential elections. Results of the repeated second round are as follows:
number of enlisted voters: 37 657 704
number of handed-out ballots: 29 073 276
number of votes cast: 29 068 971
number of invalid ballots: 422 492
votes for Yushchenko: 15 115 712 51.99%
votes for Yanukovych: 12 848 528 44.20%
votes against both: 682 239 2.34% “

I believe Yanukovych headed of for Russia. Things were murky because among other disputes and difficulties, Yushchenco had been poisoned (perhaps with Dioxin). With treatment he recovered and took office after the final voting.

So all this was happening almost 15 years before Zelenskyy was elected.

Are you saying/implying that after all the fuss in the title that bombers were heading for Ukraine, after 3 days no bombs have been dropped? OK, it was a scare headline, but are they now parked in Russia, but near the Ukraine border, or did they actually land them in Eastern Ukraine or Crimea?

True terrorists don’t always blow themselves up, but they often are all killed. In the 2004 attack on the Beslan school by more than 30 armed men, for reasons related to the problems in Chechnya, all but one were killed in the final attack by Russian authorities. Unfortunately, that attack was so violent that around 300 hostages, mostly children died also.

Pretty consistent with what I remember. At that time I was hoping Russians and Americans could cooperate more.

Perhaps you have the answer to the question I asked in comment #122, about where these 14 planes ended up.

No- only speculation that they stayed out of range of Uke drones, and used standoff missiles in Kiev and elsewhere, as reported. A likely scenario- these are ancient and slow.

If they are parked anywhere within several hundred miles of Ukraine, they may get the treatment that airfields and ships on Crimea have received.

Not sure what your question is, but if it is where they landed Russia has several bases they launch their bombers fron

Not sure where you have been but these bombers have been launching missiles since the beginning of the war, now they are being used more since the Black Sea fleet has been reduced to mostly hiding.

Launching cruise missiles every few days or weeks is not exactly carpet bombing

Just because I oppose the radical LGBTQ agenda does not mean that Putin is my friend or America my enemy.
In fact it has just about nothing to do with our dealings with Russia and China.
Some here actually go on about the Western world will be better if taken over by Russia or China.
Yeah, like I’m going to give up my Free Speech, Freedom of Worship, Freedom of Press, political freedom, guns, Constitution, liberty, let’s face it our very lives - just to keep some gays from marrying.
If they want to oppose gay marriage or whatever, they need to do it at the ballot box and through lobbying, not by welcoming some mass murdering foreign dictator like Putin or Xi.

Why would you name me in that post. I haven’t commented on anything here in a couple of weeks. As Will Smith said, “Take my name out yo mouth.”

Thank you.

What we are saying is that we agree with the Russia/Putin lovers here on most matters. But not on Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

I am surprised that at a conservative website. That so many would be fooled by KGB man Putin. Putin a creature of the Soviet Union and their KGB. Putin is their anti-globalism hero? What a joke. Reality is that Putin wants his own globalism done BRICs style

I've noticed that your posts here are very well said, direct and to the point.

Thanks for pitching in.

Keep up your good work.
