“I’ve only one burning desire - Let me stand next to your fire.”
Yes - The Ice Bridge
Not for everybody but if you’re a Yes fan with a good subwoofer go to it.

Hey... it was all I could think of right then. Covers both topics. Haven’t heard it in years. Won’t play it again for years to come. </grin>

Ring of Fire
</chuckle>
I read that Comrade Woody wrote “This Land Is Your Land” to be an atheist/Communist alternative to “God Bless America”—and perhaps the new national anthem for a Soviet America. So he wrote the lyrics and then stole the melody from “The Fire Song” (”When the World’s on Fire”) the Christian hymn attributed to blues singer Blind Willie Davis and shared by Ding-Dong-Daddy in post #176.

Commies always steal.
Eh ???
La Mer.
“When the world’s on fire” as in your ordeal with fire.
I didnt post a fire song...
True.
Thanks for the background. I wasn’t aware that the melody was not written by him. I knew that he wrote the song as a protest song and was angry when it ended up being viewed by most Americans as a patriotic song that celebrated America.
My bad. I mis-read your comment and thought that “This Land is Your Land” predated “When the World’s on Fire”, not the other way around.
He was quite the entertainer. I’m surprised you also thought of that song. I don’t usually but it kind of popped into my mind when I was trying to think of a song with the word ‘fire’.
