Two vigilantes have showed up to evict three brazen squatters who are living at a New York City home after its owner was arrested after she tried to remove them.
Adele Andaloro inherited her family's home, located in Flushing, Queens, but she was left aghast when squatters moved into her childhood home last month.
Andaloro confronted the squatters herself - and was subsequently arrested when one of the men inside called the police on her for changing the locks.
The furious homeowner, who had been in the process of selling the home, said: 'I'm really fearful that these people are going to get away with stealing my home.'
She also shared her fear that by the time authorities look into the matter, it may be more than 30 days since they moved in. Crucially, squatters in New York have rights after occupying a residence for more than a month....
The two-storey home that sits on a quiet street in the Whitestone- Flushing border estimated value on is more than $1.2 million, according to Homes.com.
A woman who appeared to be living in the home would not answer the door after several attempts were made, but earlier in the day told a source that she doesn't know what is going on and said that she is a roommate in the home.
The same woman hours later had ordered take-out that was delivered to the home around 6.30pm.
She opened the door to pay for the order, but soon slammed it shut soon after.

There’s a similar situation going on in a suburb of Seattle. And the squatter has done this before. He was able to get a judge this time to give him a restraining order against the actual owner of the property. The whole thing is outrageous.
There was a protest outside the house a few days ago, and another one is planned for this weekend.
Our government is actively working against us in almost every possible way. It’s hard to believe — first it was shoplifters and car thieves who had impunity, and now people are getting away with stealing houses!
If you follow Jonathan Choe (@choeshow on X), he’s been all over this.
Here’s a news article on it: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13215967/serial-squatter-refuses-leave-seattle-property-landlords-rent.html
You will own nothing... Everything belongs to “the people”.
Vigilantes-we need them. I’m thinking a mafia.
New York State Officials using lawfare to establish themselves as multi-million dollar squatters.
Crucially, squatters in New York have rights after occupying a residence for more than a month....
So you can acquire rights to property, 1.2 million worth of property, simply by breaking and entering and getting away with it for thirty days? We’re gonna be seeing a lot more of this. Sounds like a good way to increase your net worth.
This is the underlying reason that mafia came into existence in the first place. I don’t think that people realize that the police are under no duty to protect them from the criminal element. Ultimately, this comes under the heading of its better to have a government that is afraid of its citizens than to have citizens that are afraid of their government.
No one should be surprised when laws benefiting the criminal and criminalizing the victim - result in vigilantism and revolution. If feckless government representatives and justices continue making the victim the criminal, they shouldn’t be surprised when the people revolt and execute justice on them.

Problem is, the police stall the investigation until the 30 days have expired.
Cut off all utilities and then have a condemnation as unfit for human habitation. It takes some work to get it reapproved, but accelerates the process.
I had a tenant not move out and the contractor started construction on schedule. They moved out that day rather than have 10 big guys gut the place with them in it. They were taking dishes out of the kitchen cabinets while the guys were using sledge hammers on the other end of the cabinets. The toilet was also removed... Funny part of it was that I had two policemen working for me on the side doing construction. This was in the 1970’s. Probably wouldn’t work today.
Problem solved.
How in the heck did a law like this ever get passed? This is ridiculous on it’s face.

This is all going to get very ugly. Saw this morning of Fox & Friends an illegal on tic toc say he was going into the business of squatting empty homes.
The squatter in the white house needs some vigillantes.
“This is all going to get very ugly. Saw this morning of Fox & Friends an illegal on tic toc say he was going into the business of squatting empty homes.”
The squatter laws have been around a while but the current invasion of illegals have fit nicely into these convoluted laws. Twitter has one current video of an illegal (according to him) encouraging others to find and occupy homes like he’s running a commercial.
This article says the vigilantes showed up, but it does not describe any definitive action that they took.
Vigilantes show up to evict ‘squatters’ at Queens home where owner was arrested - as neighbors reveal THREE people have been living there for free and carrying out work inside
I have a feeling that eventually vigilantes may have to do the job our government and police falls down on. A sad state of affairs.

Correction. He’s TikTok influencer Leonel MorenoIt. A migrant from Venezuela. He reaches out to illegals to encourage squatting. Quite the entrepreneur.
