It may be tempting to look at new rules finalized Wednesday by the Biden administration boosting sales of electric vehicles as a big step toward slashing climate-changing pollution.
But the Environmental Protection Agency rules are more an incremental move, too weak and slow to respond appropriately to the gravity of the unfolding environmental crisis. And that’s a shame, because with a divided Congress, administrative action is the only way for the federal government to do big things such as protect the public from climate change and pollution.
Speed matters, after all, in preventing catastrophic climate impacts, and the longer we wait to toughen these standards, the more cumulative carbon dioxide emissions we spew into the atmosphere.
Climate change is such an existential threat that even taking one of the biggest federal actions to date to cut emissions can be viewed as a failure for lacking the necessary ambition. Biden should be doing all he can to get ahead of the climate crisis and dominate the clean energy economy of the future, not easing off the accelerator in hopes that it could help him win reelection.

What climate crisis?
There is nothing “Clean Energy” in Electric Vehicles.
“ And that’s a shame, because with a divided Congress, administrative action is the only way for the federal government to do big things such as protect the public from climate change and pollution”
They have to force this battery crap on people like Nazis because they weren’t elected to do it
Their fake climate crisis is so bad that it’s TOOOOO LATE so lets just enjoy what life we have left , LOL
Are we down to our last .eight years or so? 🙄
Their countdown clocks mean NOTHING remember this one is AOC’s ,LOL
They better start building nuclear power plants or the country is going to run way short of electricity.
If they want to control carbon output and deal with the *climate crisis*, go after China and India for their contributions.
There are many other countries in the world that produce far more than we do.
This is akin to an HOA penalizing the nicest, best kept house on the street for a weed in their yard, when the house down the street is a literal dump with an unmowed lawn.
For Democrats, EO's are end-runs around the law. Who needs to obey the law?
Only 6.86 years left.
For us all—
Dear FRiends, Our fundraiser is way behind. Chris-
Let us finish this.
Socialism: “Do what you are told or we will throw you in prison”
Communism: “Do what you are told or you will be executed”
The LA Times wants to pick one.
Ask yourself who exactly are they saving the planet for? Not for you.
The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary.

For a fake problem we must resort to fake democracy to force a fake solution!
There is no unfolding crisis, except maybe the threat of an impending EV mandate that cannot work, affect the climate, or possibly be fulfilled. If instituted, the mandate can only undermine the fiscal solvency of American auto manufacturers, since there will be no increase in the rate of sales of EV, for numerous reasons. The one possible thing that could help, would be development of a completely new battery technology.
Long before anything like this will happen, there will be either regime change in Washington, or economic collapse in general, the “Bloodbath” anyone could have predicted if Biden or his doppelganger remains in office. Stupid is the policy that destroys itself and its instigator.
