A New York City property owner recently ended up in handcuffs following a fiery standoff with a bunch of squatters she has been trying to boot from her family’s home, tense footage of the ordeal shows.
Adele Andaloro, 47, was recently nabbed after she changed the locks on the $1 million home in Flushing, Queens that she says she inherited from her parents when they died, ABC’s Eyewitness News reported.
“It’s enraging,” the homeowner said of the squatter saga. “It’s not fair that I, as the homeowner, have to be going through this.”
Andaloro claims the ordeal erupted when she started the process of trying to sell the home last month but realized squatters had moved in — and brazenly replaced the entire front door and locks.

I wonder what “crime” they will think up for her.
There is a section of St. Louis called ‘The Hill’. Lots of great Italian restaurants and markets. Small homes, but kept neat and tidy. Very close to ‘sketchy’ neighborhoods (like virtually all of St. Louis). Doesn’t seem to have the crime problems that areas just blocks away have.
BUT-—THE REAL OWNER WAS PAYING the PROPERTY TAXES...
Sooner of later that loss of Property Tax revenue will break down the ‘CITY”.
“Be thankful he wasn’t smart enough to get an attorney, because he probably had a “right” to sue.”
He may have been able to “stand his ground” enough to cause some delay. We just wanted, and got, our friends help so that we could avoid any delays. We were also concerned, if he could get some delay in his eviction he’d find some way to belatedly start paying some rent, while still making a shambles of our property. THAT we really wanted to avoid.
Geez! Is private property private anymore? Not long ago, a Los Angeles politician (Karen Bass, I think) stated that the plan is to force homeowners to share their homes with “others”. Just Russia post-Communist Revolution.
When anarchy reigns you must play by a different set of rules.
The guy would have been evicted, one way or another. We just got the justice we would have gotten sooner.
In all the months he stayed there he never gave his sister a dime, though she billed him every month and copied us on what she billed him. Then after she had been gone for two months (and she never told us), he remained, with no intention of paying rent to her or us or anyone. That was when we went to see what was going on and found the bum and all his mess.
HE and what he as doing, and what some court eviction process would have permitted him was the real corruption.
There is nothing right or good about squatting on someone else’s property. Allowing squatters is a giant corruption. The lawyers and the corrupt judges win, the property owner loses.
Are legal tenants protected from eviction in New York? If not, then this is just another example of law breakers being granted more rights than are law abiding citizens.
Exactly. Move in. Loud music all hours, open ziploc of raw fish hidden in heater vents, remove bathroom doors, eat all their food, have your handyman tweak your heater and/or AC so it's not exactly functional, etc.
My point exactly. You're "connected"; you got to the head of the line. Good for you. I'd have done the same thing. But we shouldn't have to. This is Third-World stuff ... the next step is institutionalized bribery.
Everything else you write, on the evils of "squatting" and the greater evils of government permitting it ... 100% agree.
Criminals have more rights than honest citizens!
biden’s America
Democrats (WEF): “By 2030 you will own nothing and be happy!”
Stop interrupting her red pill moment. She just needs to have an epiphany in jail, and then hire some Staten Island ‘contractors’ to ‘encourage’ the squatters to vacate. When the law is impotent or even contrary, might makes right.
No, I don’t disagree at all with what you did. But the tenancy courts are insane.
I see a business opportunity for a deaf guy. Move in and just play “It’s A Small World” loud and on a loop day and night. That would drive anyone out!
If you think this is bad wait until the 4000 prisoners that were released from prison in Haiti get here.
Residential property is my vocation. Right out of the gate I was taught that squatters and tenants are on the same spectrum and it’s a short one.
I never rent out anything. Squatters who don’t pay, squatters who might, squatters who did, tenants who might, tenants who have paid rent...Avoid them all.
BTW, cameras 24/7 hardly cost anything. You got a million-dollar house, and you can’t spring for a camera?
Wow I hope he has a super duper life insurance policy. Most of these squatters are of the violent type. AKA throwing feces.
Both squatters AND tenants have more rights than the actual property owners in BLUE states.
