President Vladimir Putin extended his reign over Russia in a landslide election whose outcome was never in doubt, declaring Monday his determination to advance deeper into Ukraine and dangling new threats against the West.
After the harshest crackdown on dissent since Soviet times, it was clear from the earliest returns that Putin’s nearly quarter-century rule would continue with a fifth term that grants him six more years. Still, Russians heeded a call to protest Putin’s repression and his war in Ukraine by showing up at polling stations at noon on Sunday. With all the precincts counted Monday, election officials said Putin had secured a record number of votes, underlining his total control over the political system. U.S. and other Western leaders denounced the election as a sham.
The election was “neither free nor fair in any sort of way,” said Nigel Gould-Davies, a senior fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London. Ahead of the election, Putin’s greatest political foe, Alexei Navalny, died in an Arctic penal colony, anti-war candidates were barred from the ballot and independent voices were silenced in a Kremlin-backed media blockade. No independent monitoring organizations were able to observe the election and analysts said online polling meant the vote was highly susceptible to manipulation. Any public criticism of Putin or his war in Ukraine has been stifled.
Putin appeared Monday evening on Red Square in the heart of Moscow at a concert to mark the tenth year since he annexed Crimea from Ukraine. Putin’s three token challengers for the presidency appeared on stage beside him and publicly supported him after campaigns in which none of them criticized him.

for there is no distinction, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith.
This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in God’s merciful restraint He let the sins previously committed go unpunished; for the demonstration, that is, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”
As per the revelations of Fatima, and later commentary of Sister Lucia, both Russia and Ukraine are to be consecrated to the Immaculate heart of Mary, and converted to the Catholic faith according to the Eastern rite.
Ukraine is in this condition to a degree, but Russia certainly isnt, and is still thus bound to fulfill its malignant role as prophesied by Our Lady at Fatima. A prophecy, note, that has proven itself amply in the years since 1917.
Hence Russia needs our prayers.
Wait for the preordained Biden Victory and the arrest of Trump for treason against the state.

Western sources put Putin’s approval rate at 80%+
and he wins an election with 80%+

Watch when Trump wins in November. There will be a vast inflow of congratulations, even from people ideologically leery of Trump.
The leadership of nations that want something from Putin will congratulate him. I spoke with my daughter-in-law last night. The Russian people are NOT stupid and NOT supportive of Putin.
She kept saying you don’t understand. You cannot understand. We cannot really vote. If you cast a wrong ballot, they will seek you out. The Russian people have no ‘freedom of exprssion’ let alone freedom to vote.

I am conservative politically. But, conservatives can hold and do have different political opinions.

I don’t doubt you have found something as my original fb page was ‘hacked’/compromised about two years ago. Maybe it still exists somewhere in cyber-space.
Thinking back on it, you could have made the same argument in, say, 1962. In 1962 Indonesia and India and Egypt and most of the post-colonial countries were “non-aligned”, or rather, in the circumstances of the time, sympathetic to the USSR. And of course China was pro-USSR, their open rivalry came later.
Or for that matter the entire period of the Cold War, if you want to put it as anti-American or anti-western, instead of pro-USSR.
You can’t really change how much Putin sucks.
And it’s pathetic to run down a nation fighting for its survival after already being subject to Stalins genocide in Holodomor.

Alexei Anatolyevich Navalny was well respected and well loved.
Navalny as a Russian opposition leader, lawyer, anti-corruption activist, and political prisoner threatened paranoid Putin.
