President Vladimir Putin extended his reign over Russia in a landslide election whose outcome was never in doubt, declaring Monday his determination to advance deeper into Ukraine and dangling new threats against the West.
After the harshest crackdown on dissent since Soviet times, it was clear from the earliest returns that Putin’s nearly quarter-century rule would continue with a fifth term that grants him six more years. Still, Russians heeded a call to protest Putin’s repression and his war in Ukraine by showing up at polling stations at noon on Sunday. With all the precincts counted Monday, election officials said Putin had secured a record number of votes, underlining his total control over the political system. U.S. and other Western leaders denounced the election as a sham.
The election was “neither free nor fair in any sort of way,” said Nigel Gould-Davies, a senior fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London. Ahead of the election, Putin’s greatest political foe, Alexei Navalny, died in an Arctic penal colony, anti-war candidates were barred from the ballot and independent voices were silenced in a Kremlin-backed media blockade. No independent monitoring organizations were able to observe the election and analysts said online polling meant the vote was highly susceptible to manipulation. Any public criticism of Putin or his war in Ukraine has been stifled.
Putin appeared Monday evening on Red Square in the heart of Moscow at a concert to mark the tenth year since he annexed Crimea from Ukraine. Putin’s three token challengers for the presidency appeared on stage beside him and publicly supported him after campaigns in which none of them criticized him.

There was a response to Navalny’s supporters’ call to form longer queues at polling stations at noon, which were accompanied by demonstrations outside Russian embassies abroad. While it cannot be said that these protests have massively engulfed all of Russia or seriously hindered the election process, the significant number of expressions of dissent indicates that a considerable portion of Russian society generally understands the nature of their country’s political system
Cleaner elections than American “elections”...
When is The Zelensky holding elections?
...yeah, the biggest difference is that 81 million Russians ACTUALLY voted for Putin, instead of 81 million fake voters for Brandon.
100 million votes just like we may see 11/6. 😳
“the biggest difference is that 81 million Russians ACTUALLY voted for Putin”
I wouldn’t place bets on that.
There are actually people on this forum who have posted like this “election” was legitimate - they haven’t been legitimate there for quite a number of years now, anymore than any other country run by a dictatorship.
Biden's dick-tatership, or The Putin's dictatorship?
Election rigging is a myth... At least that’s what the MSM says.
There was a recent article about the Russian election. It listed the various leaders around the country and declared all of them to be tyrants and dictators.
The leaders of China, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela and a few others were listed with all sorts of adjectives like dictator and oppressor.
I noticed they did not include the congratulations of Modi in India, who won a recent election no one declared non valid. And the leader of Indonesia passed along congratulations.
The reality is Putin was congratulated by leaders of countries comprising the majority of mankind. It is not clear at all why the US, UK and EU choose to isolate themselves from the world’s people.
Look at all the Putin apologists coming out here.
(((PING!)))
... to be added to the best Zeeper-provided entertainment since Paul Shanklin parodies, ping me bro.

• Putin wins 87% of vote in weekend election, says Kremlin
• Western governments say election was rigged, undemocratic
• Condemn holding of election in occupied Ukraine regions
• China, North Korea, India, Iran congratulate Putin
Add Indonesia.
It’s the majority of mankind even without Indonesia.
And he’s STILL trying to inflict more damage with a grift package to the Ukrainian beggar.
Not a good day for the Zeepers is it.
