Some of it hits shareholders but half the country own stocks as well
Corporations do not pay any taxes and they should not! All their taxes are passed on to the consumer. WE PAY IT! A tax on a corporation is a tax on the buyer. Profits of the investors is taxed as it should be as this is income.
Actually the fairest tax of all is a national sales tax or a flat tax for all as everybody pays regardless. If it gets to high everyone gets mad and votes the SOBs out of office.

The simple fact is if they raise their prices for taxes or anything else it increases their taxable income. Maybe even into a Higher tax bracket.
I think this is subtle thievery, worse than even the inflation by this administration
People are living off their credit cards now, and this increase will cause unprecedented nationwide bankruptcies.
We are already increasing the national debt by 1 trillion dollars every 100 days.
