Yep, I think that was the first type of ‘measles’ that everyone became concerned about once the link between the disease and birth defects was discovered.

Kids having problems with ‘regular’ measles were so rare, that measles were considered an ‘ordinary’ childhood disease. And chicken pox, which can be deadly in adults was so common and contagious with kids that there were few adults who had never gotten it.
