The headline says it all: “EV euphoria is dead. Automakers are scaling back or delaying their electric vehicle plans.”
Yeah, there’s a shock.
Gee, why-oh-why would people not want to purchase a super-expensive vehicle that can take more than an hour to charge — and that’s if you can find a charging station?
For years, the automotive industry has been in a state of EV euphoria. Automakers trotted out optimistic sales forecasts for electric models and announced ambitious targets for EV growth. Wall Street boosted valuations for legacy automakers and startup entrants alike, based in part on their visions for an EV future.
Now the hype is dwindling, and companies are again cheering consumer choice. Automakers from Ford Motor and General Motors to Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Jaguar Land Rover and Aston Martin are scaling back or delaying their electric vehicle plans.

OMG. I just had a dream about remodeling a kitchen and trying to find more space. “Why don’t we get rid of the trash compactor, nobody uses it.” (We don’t, and never had one.)

I haven’t looked into them - I imagine there are pros and cons. As with everything else.

Yeah - I think Seattle would be okay too. Except for a week or two every year. I might have to think about it. Our furnace is old. Of course it still might be longer lasting than some of the new stuff. Like the old fridge in the garage that has outlasted two new fridges in the kitchen.
For some folks the EV’s make sense. I would like to see the government stop subsidizing them though. A friend has one and took me for a ride. “Thanks for letting me ride in it - seeing as I own part of it anyway!” He laughed. “Well, except I bought it used - no subsidies!”

No surprise except for the over educated morons.
EV’s are niche vehicles. Sure they can go 0-60 in a hurry, but what good is all of that zip when you are driving in areas that lack charging stations? I can pull into any wide spot in the road and find a gas station. Try that with a Tesla.
That’s another good example which shows that common sense has taken a leave ob absence, even with people who supposedly are “Highly” educated being tought a bunch of rubbish, not being able to disdinquish between what may and may not work. No doubt down the road and in the future there will be lectric cars when all the other parts of missing links are in place and until then, let’s be happy and work with what we have.

If I thought you cared I would explain it. I’m mixing ethanol free 91 with E85 @ 15% alcohol content which is acceptable under warranty. Result is 95 octane for less than I would have paid for 91. If you don’t understand I don’t care but others will

E85 can vary greatly in octane. It must be a pain to go through that mixing every time to save a few pennies.
