“Anybody who doesn’t have 3 to 6 months of basic staples and food within your home, and the ability to grow a garden.”

If something happens to the world that completely destroys the food supply chain for 3 to 6 months then getting food is probably least of your worries.

Instead of a doomsday prepper, I'm more of a slow boil prepper. I call it that based on the modern proverb of killing a frog not by boiling the water first, but by putting him in cool water and slowly raising the temperature to boil.

Whether or not the left takes us to a Mad Max style dystopia in my lifetime (in which case I'm admittedly not ready for), I see the left already increasing the pressure bit by bit to make it harder and harder to be free, at least while also being comfortable. The same with the persecution of Christians in the U.S. (not to the level of North Korea or Iran, but bit by bit making it at least a little more uncomfortable to be a Christian in public, then a little bit more...).

Thankfully, I live in the mountains and am a junior level prepper, with enough food for five years. Water is a different story, and will require a massive hike. I feel for anyone who lives in suburbs just outside the circumference of 10MT nuke. The panic and chaos and violence will be unimaginable. Last week, when Facebook went down, my power went down a half hour later. I thought that was it per finally getting nailed on a cyber attack. Turns out, I was in a small outage, but it quickly made my mind race to what I DIDN’T yet have preps for.

1. Get out of the city and go rural.

The solar system I made to power my well will easily run the freezers and refrigerators forever as well as lights, and we have acreage and grow our own vegetables and have chickens too.

The time to start preparing for what appears to be inevitable was the day all the Stupid people in this country had a black marxist muslim that never had a job in his life, installed as President.

"Doomsday" will occur ONLY AFTER Jesus has taken up his saints into the air to meet him and be with him forever (1 Thess.4:17). This event will TIRGGER the "doomsday" of 7 years of wrath - a horrific time of terror and death.

Obviously that hasn't happened yet since 2 billion born-again Christians (30% of the world's 7 billion population) haven't yet disappeared the world hasn't yet plunged into WWIII - worldwide chaos, darkness, death and destruction from which there is no escape.

Although there is a coalescing happening in preparation for "doomsday", we have a ways to go yet. IMO, near the end of this century, we'll go up and it'll all come crashing down.

Antibiotics can be purchased here without a prescription

I’m currently taking them for whooping cough which I may have contracted in a recent hospital stay.

I’ve had guys tell me they aren’t planning anything more than taking from others when SHTF

“Oh? You must be looking for another blow hole to be installed in your body by an undocumented doctor...”

Unless you can hunt ..fish.. forage for food ..and filter water ..you are probably screwed.
also, must be prepared to shoot someone who tries to raid your vegetable garden.

Also, vices (sugar, tobacky, booze) will be worth more than gold.

I work with the State’s Emergency Management agency, the local city agency, and I volunteer with a Ham Radio RACES organization. My daughter has a Masters Degree in Emergency Management.

I am around a bunch of people who make their living planning for and practicing for emergency situations. They have every conceivable situation and the response in a binder in their offices.

None of them call for an emergency that is going to stop food production and transport for six months or more.

These “doomsday” preppers plan for an apocalypse that is so unlikely as to be wasteful of their resources. Many of them plan for gun toting survival in the local woods (as if there would be anything to eat there after two weeks of apocalypse.). The problem is they don’t practice and most of them are so fat they cannot walk 1/2 mile.

When they show up on Ham Radio field day and want to know how to join our organization…we direct them to another town’s group. They are a liability.

Prepping is fine. Having food around is great. Knowing how to fire a weapon and hunt are good life skills. Focusing on events that are not the least bit likely to happen is just a waste of your time. Focus on the things that WILL happen, and practice.

Community is the best tool a prepper can have.

Every single day in the United States, someone is experiencing their own SHTF scenario. It may be a car wreck, a house fire, a catastrophic illness or injury, a job loss, a home invasion, a street robbery or assault, police violating their rights, etc....

These are all things that every individual needs to prepare for happening in their own lives. They are very likely to happen to you.

The type of mass-effect events that impact millions of people and get so much attention in the “prepper” community are extremely rare and not even worth worrying about.

However there is one particular mass-effect event that IS relatively likely and has occurred many times in the past.

Just like the last mass-effect event, the next mass-effect event will be government overreaction to a government created crisis.

There is a DHS Agent that lives on my block.
Since he moved in, he has been accumulating high end camping equipment.
Off Grid Camping Trailer with a Roof Nest Tent.
4WD Truck with a Roof Nest Tent.
He said that he likes to go camping and has even been to Alaska, but the truck and trailer don't even have 1k miles of dirt on the under carriages and the truck has a front license plate, free from road grime.
Every couple of weeks he gets new equipment and he keeps it outside close to the trailer.
He just added a sled and a snow board to his inventory and also has added carriers to his trailer for the inventory.
So I'm wondering why a Federal Agent is prepping to bug out to Alaska.
