Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has responded to the dozens of bands who have pulled out of this year’s SXSW Festival in protest of its sponsorship deal with the U.S. Army.
“Bye. Don’t come back,” Abbott wrote Tuesday in a post on X. “We are proud of the U.S. military in Texas. If you don’t like it, don’t come here.”

The band boycott of SXSW comes after the festival signed on the U.S. Army as a “super sponsor.” But many other organizations and companies are also sponsoring this year’s edition, including the sports energy drink C4, Porsche, and the left-wing Austin Chronicle newspaper.
SXSW is also holding a number of events featuring defense contractors and government agencies, including the CIA.

U.S. Army is still an honorable institution. The Biden Administration is ruining everything the U.S. Army is doing. But with new leadership, I believe that the U.S. Army can go back to what it was. As long as we’re not distracted by stupid missions by the MIC.
Depends on what they were protesting... Maybe they’re against the LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ transgender sex operations and the pure destruction of the military. I’d agree with them.
We are strict about using the correct pronouns. If incorrect pronouns are used, the offending party will be court martialed (or "court marshalled" using freeper terminology).
Army will allow trannies to wear a dress to the battlefield and dance like a ballerina.
We only shoot enemies if they use improper pronouns or refuse to do so. Unless they are muslims, then anything is allowed since we are severely DEI conscious.
But, butt (not a typo) the US Military allows all the LGQBTEIO people in now and accepts pronouns!

Maybe a stint in the Army would be good for some of the SXSW attendees. And some would probably be good candidates for the CIA’s off the books operations down in Colombia and Bolivia.

As a combat decorated Army veteran, I can’t say I’d be in favor of the Army sponsoring anything. It’s not what it once was.
I couldn’t, in good faith, recommend anyone join the woke Army.
He’s gotten better because he’s been dragged over to the conservative side.

Sxsw is the worst. They just fleece bands who pay through the nose for the privilege of being lumped in with thousands of other bands no one will ever care about.
