I turned 18 in 1976. I proudly supported Ronald Reagan way back then. I was 18 too then, and had just joined the military. Having been raised in a Democrat household in a liberal state, I voted for Carter. By the time I left the military, after serving under Carter and seeing what he did to the military in four short years, I then voted for Reagan and left the military a staunch conservative.
