Houthis Vow to Ramp Up Attacks Over Ramadan as Red Sea Blockade Triples Costs of EU Emissions Scheme
Sputnik News ^ | 3/12/24 | Ilya Tsyukanov

The Yemeni militia’s three-and-a-half month long campaign of ship seizures, missile and drone strikes has added billions of dollars to global commercial shipping costs, with the fighters vowing to continue their partial blockade of the Red Sea until Israel halts the war in Gaza.

The Houthis will continue their operations against Israel-affiliated commercial vessels and Western warships in the Red Sea throughout the holy month of Ramadan, militia spokesman Yahya Saree has announced.

“We will continue to prevent navigation to the ports of occupied Palestine until the end of the aggression and the siege of Gaza,” Saree said in a statement on Tuesday, while reporting on “a targeted operation against the American ship ‘Pinocchio’ with naval missiles.”

CENTCOM, the US combatant command responsible for operations across the Middle East, confirmed earlier in the day that the Houthis had fired two anti-ship ballistic missiles at the Pinocchio, a Liberian-flagged container ship.

The 50,963 ton, 273-meter long vessel was reportedly on route from Jeddah to the Suez Canal zone, changing course following the attack away from Houthi-controlled territories. The ship’s captain said that there were no injuries onboard following the attack, which took place Monday.

Houthi leader Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi has similarly promised that the militia will continue its operations through Ramadan, which began on March 10 and is set to end on April 9.

“We are entering the blessed month while engaging in a holy war to support the Palestinian people using missiles, drones, financial aid, and widespread popular mobilization,” al-Houthi said in a video address Monday. “When the United States observes missiles and drones approaching its warships, it perceives a significant level of popular support behind these actions,” he added, urging Yemenis to continue taking to the streets for mass demonstrations in support of the Houthi campaign.

Unless the US and the UK are willing to put boots on the ground to clean out the multiple Houthi nests, these attacks will continue. Also the Houthis are achieving their strategic goals using relatively low cost weaponry. The defensive missiles on the US ships being used at a prodigious rate are extremely expensive. Suspect well over $100 million already has spent keeping those US Navy ships on station added to the cost of ordinance fired.

Why aren’t the leftist greenie-weenies screeching about the hundreds of thousands of tons of additional CO2 emitted by ships not transiting the Red Sea and Suez Canal?

We all know the answer — Jew hatred is #1 far behind “climate change.” They will support Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis in their efforts to destroy Israel far more than they will support the free transit of ships through the Suez Canal to reduce CO2 emissions.

It’s so typical of leftists — they have their hierarchy of causes and tribes. Climate Change just got kicked down a few rungs on the Leftist Grievances Ladder.

It was the over pressure from the explosions that form waves when they combine and synchronize. The wave is so strong it will tear any bodies to compressed shreds. Nothing oleft but tangled metal, flattened metal , the wave finds its way int every crack and orifice.Nothing survives it anywhere the massive compression wave can enter.

Its past time for Biden to start using real ordnance in Yemen. The USN subs need to make a few Iranian radar picket ships and cargo vessels disappear.

It's always been that way. Before the Americans, the British were in charge.

A USN Carrier Strike Group costs about $28 Billion. I believe we have multiple groups in region and MEUs (about 2200 Marines). That’s massive firepower that cannot fight flip flop fighters. It’s like swinging a sledgehammer against a fly.

“We don’t have a battleship in the inventory. This is what they were made for.”

Agreed, but the woke world won’t allow the imperial projection of massive strength and dominance like that.

We might hurt someone’s feelers.

Luckily, the Biden Administration has shown the ability to multitask.

What, like screwing up reading the teleprompter, falling up the stairs and denouncing MAGA Republicans all at the same time?

I don’t know why but according to an author interviewed on Al Kresta’s radio show, there is a coordinate sending electronic array on a small ship still sitting in the Red Sea which is directing the Houthi offensives including the missiles endangering ships and helping to avoid US and UK planes. Author had no answer to why wasn’t it sunk already.

Are you saying that third parties providing logistics to one side against another are fair game? 🤔

If Biden wanted to we could make every Houthi position in Yemen disappear in 72 hours and not put a single boot in the ground to do it.
Think about why he isn’t.

Biden is brain-dead, but even he is not that stupid.

Sure, Let's invade the huge country of Yemen like we did the world powers of....

-Vietnam
-Iraq
-Libya
-Granada
-Panama
-Afganastain
-And even Ukraine

Those have all worked out so very well, Niki Jr.

We can't even manage our own rot and problems -- no border, rampant crime, $36 trillion in debt, homelessness, raging inflation....you name it.

Sure. Let's go right ahead and invade another micro-country. It has worked so well. Maybe we can DEI them into submission. Yea. That's the trick.

Excuse me, but you're a fool.

Biden won’t do a damn thing unless Hussien Obama tells him to. This is all Obama, the anti-American, pro-Iran, muslim. Pulling the puppet strings on the demented old man drooling in the oval office.

Obama’s out to destroy Israel, too.

lOOK AT THE SERIES OF EXPLOSIONS. USING THIS EFFECT REQUIRES TIMING OF THE HITS. THE ORDNANCE FALLS IN A LINE. FIRST THE FRONT DOOR EXPLOSIONS, THEN ONE AT the end OF THE LINE AND SEVERAL IN THE MIDDLE. THE WAVES FROM THE FIRST EXPLOSION AND FROM THAT AT THE END OF THE LINE CONVERGE IN THE MIDDLE AND SHOCK THE VAPOR OUT OF THE AIR, IT IS SO POWERFULL.

(Pardon the caps . I did not notice until I as finished.)

Brandon needs to use this type of strike. The Houthis would not dare to launch anything else. So far Biden is just helping the Iranians and making it look like he is doing something for Western interests. Brandon is doing nothing but jerking off the entirety of NATO and those who depend on freedom of the high seas.

BIden will not roll out the good ordnance until the Dem Party starts tio get contributions from varkious shipping companies. Thats the way Biden works.
