I am 74 and still drive professionally. I am a safe driver and have been for years. I drive carefully and defensively.
The comments here trashing drivers in their 70’s are ignorant comments by ignorant people.
I enjoy driving.
Do these people want me euthanized due to my age?
Do they want me locked in a padded cell?
The bus driver swerved into the trucker’s lane. There likely was nothing the 72-year-old could do.
Those that don’t want anyone over 65 driving, would you prefer someone who couldn’t speak English?

I’ll be 70 in July. Class A CDL, and have always had good enough health to receive the 2 year medical exam certificate. No HBP, not overweight. Just corrected vision.
Got my CDL in 2001, and no wrecks, just one speeding violation in over 1,500,000 commercial miles. In my professional career I’ve had plenty of close calls with bad drivers, and have almost caused a few accidents myself. But by the grace of God I’ve been spared.
I received four speeding tickets in my personal driving (all in sports/muscle cars, all before age 24. Should have had a lot more. ;)
