Today, the NAACP sent a letter to current and prospective members of the NCAA, calling for Black student athletes to reconsider their decisions to attend public colleges and universities in Florida. The letter comes following recent news that the University of Florida had dismantled its DEI department at the direction of the DeSantis administration's Stop WOKE Act. The bill, which was passed last year, prohibits the use of state funds for any diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. While the University of Florida has been the first to follow the directive, Florida is home to some of the nation's largest public universities, many of whom rely on Black talent recruited to their athletics programs.

I bet plenty of black kids still come to Florida schools.
Won’t be as much work for campus rape councilors then...
So, one of the most exclusionary, racist organizations in the world, is boycotting Florida schools, over lack of diversity & inclusion?
You can’t make this up!
The downside?
Gosh, they could start their own colleges! Even their own sports conferences. That’ll show ‘em!!!
“I bet plenty of black kids still come to Florida schools.”
+1 on that bet if you can find any takers.
DeSantis and Florida are trailblazing here and will reap the benefits, early and often.
“NAALCP”
Echoes of Maja Rushie. Lovin’ it.
I worked with a woman who lived in Florida when she was young. In elementary school, she said that she and her sister would have to stay home on Cracker Day so they wouldn’t get beaten up by non-whites.
If this bunch weren’t hypocrites, they would not consider a school that did not have a “DEI” in place for their sports programs.
Haiti is really cheap right now as long as they don’t eat you
Even if the Gators don’t win a game, it’s worth it.
Go ahead, boycott!
WTF is a “PWI University”. Damn writers who use abbreviations without defining them!
It apparently stands for Predominantly White Institution. I had to look it up. I also really hate writers who use undefined abbreviations as though everyone just automatically knows what they mean.
Those writers forget the rules for using abreviations, especially racist claptrap ones.
Passing legislation like this can do a tremendous amount of good.
In short order it will save lives in Florida and save the state billions of dollars.
Of course, it is not too good for the states getting the students who had intended to loaf in Florida.
PWI colleges? Prison Works Initiative?
Predominately White Institutions...................
The great irony of this is the fact athletics is the only area in college life where meritocracy is openly embraced, to athletic black kids’ benefit.
No one is demanding that college sports teams reflect a school’s enrollment or be ‘diverse’ in the word’s actual meaning, equitable or inclusive.
So the upshot of this advocacy will be a substantial increase in GPA among Florida college athletes.
Thank you...
