Does the government pay for that kind of treatment/surgery if you are in the military?
If so, that explains why so many are choosing to enlist.

Yes. And because it was a procedure that was done to you while you were active duty they have to take care of it through the VA system forever. In theory at least.

The military is paying for it. By the time they go through the operation and all the therapies, they don’t even serve their duties during their enlistment

Another reason to join the military is the lifelong medical care for treatment of AIDS, or other long term illnesses. You can bet that if there is a hot war going on the lgbtqrst+ enlistment would go down.
