On Friday, the Republican National Committee held a meeting in Houston, Texas to decide who would replace outgoing Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. The 168 delegates voted to entrust the leadership of the party to Trump-endorsed Michael Whatley and Trump's daughter-in-law Lara Trump as RNC co-chair. Both Whatley and Lara Trump were elected unanimously to their positions.
McDaniel, who tearfully said goodbye to the RNC delegates during the spring meeting, explained last month that she would be stepping down following the South Carolina primary in order to allow the presumptive GOP nominee to select a RNC delegation for the upcoming November election. Trump explained his reasoning for his endorsed candidates in a statement in February: "The RNC MUST be a good partner in the Presidential election. It must do the work we expect from the National Party and do it flawlessly. That means helping to ensure fair and transparent elections across the country, getting out the vote everywhere – even in parts of the country where it won't be easy – and working with my campaign, as the Republican presumptive nominee for President, to win this election and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
To fulfill this vision, Trump endorsed Whatley who was seen as a party leader that was strong on election integrity during the 2020 election. "We are already well on our way to making Joe Biden a one-term President, and I look forward to working alongside each and every Republican across the country to deliver Republican victories up and down the ballot," Whatley, who is the current North Carolina GOP chairman, said in a statement. "Lara and I are steadfast in our commitment to get out the vote, protect the ballot, and elect Donald J. Trump and Republicans from coast to coast this November."

Whatley’s first foray into politics was volunteering to help Jesse Helm’s senatorial reelection bid in 1984. Whatley was then a sophomore in high school.
Not a bad start.
The probability that McRomney already did a full dump of RNC inside information to the DNC is beyond astronomical.
Two of the picks will be wonderful; since taking over the chairthingship of North Carolina, Whatley has overseen the election of two Republican senators, a veto-proof majority in both houses of the NC Legislature, and an NC State Supreme Court that went from 6-1 leftist D to 5-2 conservative R. If they bring in Scott Presler, he is the best get out the vote expert I ever came across and he was honored for this by Trump at the White House.
I STILL WANT A DEEP, COMPLETE AUDIT OF PAYMENTS FOR “FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS”.
Thank you! Let’s keep that in mind.
“Pro America” is code for Barbara Bush’s pick.
Hunh? Pro America is no code at all, it’s plain language.
I have no objection to Whatley. But I am opposed to nepotism, including Trump nepotism.
And please don’t try to tell me that Trump can’t trust anyone outside his immediate family.
Oh look, two ‘accounts’ copy-pasta the same screed.
He trusts her.
Trump can’t trust anyone outside his immediate family. There I did it.
Ronna, is that you?Nah, this is.
You can tell it's a woman's post by the level of personal vitriol against another female.
I hope he’s right. He’s trusted a lot of people. I waa just thinking tho that ahe would be a “look, he’s hired a family member.
Do democrats do that?
Now, time to celebrate. I’m going to open a bottle of champagne. Not the good expensive stuff, I’m waiting for election day, when Trump wins...
Ronna Romney is FINALLY gone. She was an utter disaster.
She gave millions to trump for legal fees until he became a candidate then the rules change. He still got big bucks.
bttt
Break a leg, Ronna...wherever you wind up.
