President Trump is narrowing his choices for a running mate in November and is focused on three young U.S. senators, according to a GOP strategist with close ties to the campaign.
Sens. Katie Britt of Alabama, J.D. Vance of Ohio and Marco Rubio of Florida are the top choices, Ryan Girdusky, a GOP strategist and conservative blogger, said.
Not included on the shortlist: South Dakota Gov, Kristi. Noem, Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake, or his former press secretary Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Neither Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis nor Mr. Trump’s recently vanquished GOP primary opponent, Nikki Haley, are under consideration.

Rubio??????
So funny to see these lists.
2 out of 3 ain’t bad.
Can’t be Rubio. They are both from Florida.
Vance is the man but he is a he and whiter than me. Also, Ohio is already locked up. Little Marco, heck NO!
Rubio and President Trump are from the same state.
Katie Britt? Nice lady, but no.
J. D. Vance? Good choice, but if the GOP wants to regain control of the Senate, is it wise to choose a Senator?
Trump-Rubio ?
Both from Fla doesn’t work.
Trump would have to move again.
That said, JD Vance would be great.
Good point.
I think Susan and Seth smoke a lot of high grade pot.
Katie Britt gave the response to SOTU. Had to be a reason. She was nervous but settled down. The AP chat on their feed was brutal. But overall she was fine. Alabama has a R governor so her replacement won’t affect party balance
FAKE NEWS, Dr. Gorka has stated Trump has already chosen his VP and it is NOT a Senator, or ANYONE people have been talking about!! This is PURE UTTER BS by the Washington Times!,
Whomever is chosen may be around a long time.
Four sitting vice presidents have been elected president: John Adams in 1796, Thomas Jefferson in 1800, Martin Van Buren in 1836, and George H. W. Bush in 1988. Likewise, two former vice presidents have won the presidency, Richard Nixon in 1968 and Joe Biden in 2020.
Nine Vice Presidents—John Tyler, 1841; Millard Fillmore, 1850; Andrew Johnson, 1865; Chester A. Arthur, 1881; Theodore Roosevelt, 1901; Calvin Coolidge, 1923; Harry S. Truman, 1945; Lyndon B. Johnson, 1963 became President after a death and Gerald Ford was sworn in after the resignation of Richard Nixon.
Wouldn’t put much credence in anything reporter Seth McLaughlin writes.
He has been a TDS Trump hater for years now. I’m sure real Trump confidants would be talking to him.
Tim Scott would be a good choice. He’s someone who’s boring.
“Can’t be Rubio. They are both from Florida.”
Trump doesn’t have a home in Florida. He can change his residence with a call to his lawyers.
Abbott is the choice. All else are head fakes, chaff.
That’s right. It’s forbidden under the constitution, unless Marco Rubio or Ron DeSantis move to different states.
Thank heavens. Rubio is a dim bulb.
I hope it’s Doug Burgum, Governor of North Dakota.
He is soooooo ready to walk into the Presidency.
