“Make sure it happens after 8pm.”
From experience with a Step Mother and BIL with dementia, as early as 6:00PM will work.
When my Dad was in the throes of it, 3pm was his ‘magic hour’ if they were late with his afternoon snack. He couldn’t dial, but someone would dial for him so I could talk him off the ledge for the day.
I should’ve recorded the phone calls. He was always looking for our dog that had been dead for 42 years...and his big metal toolbox, or his car. Another fun one was when he said he was calling me from a bar and he’d had too much to drink and could I come pick him up? I told him’ ‘Let me talk to the Bartender to get directions’ and he put the Nurse back on the line. She & I had a good conversation; she’d never heard THAT one before, LOL! He hadn’t had any booze in about a decade by then and they did NOT have ‘Happy Hour’ in his care facility.
Going through this is SO devastating to everyone involved. We really should NOT have a Leader of the Free World who is as mentally impaired as Brandon! We’re so screwed.
