Super Tuesday: GOP senators silent on whether they voted for Trump in primaries
Washington Examiner ^ | 3/6/24 | Emily Jacobs

Republican senators from Super Tuesday states who are remaining neutral in the 2024 GOP primary declined to reveal who they voted for.

Despite the fact that former President Donald Trump has secured the endorsements of more than half of the Senate Republican Conference, a number of members have maintained that they won’t weigh in before the general election. Of those representing states that vote on Super Tuesday, none of them were willing to reveal who they backed to the Washington Examiner.

Sen. James Lankford (R-OK), whose bipartisan border security deal was ripped to shreds by his party just last month, said he voted over the weekend. He burst into laughter when asked if he’d like to reveal who he voted for.

Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC), a centrist with a penchant for bipartisanship, said when pressed on who he supported in his state’s primary, “I voted for a good group of candidates all the way up and down the line.”

He declined to elaborate.

The Senate GOP conference has many centrist and establishment Republicans known for their bipartisan deal-making. Several of Trump’s GOP skeptics, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) included, were able to develop decent working relationships with the former president while in office, though several of those have since deteriorated.

We know they voted for whoever wasn't Trump on their ballot.

They might have voted for Christie, just for fun.

Well, it’s supposed to be a secret ballot, isn’t it? How long it remains secret is up to the one who placed it I would think.

Trump will have enough delegates to clinch the nomination in the next two weeks at most. Haley is reported to be dropping out today, finally. Trump needs to go after the RINOs with the hammer and tongs. The RINOs like WI Speaker Vos who screwed him in 2020 need to be made examples of what not to do. Trump needs to support primary opponents, or third party/independents running against them. There needs to be a penalty for being a RINO and screwing MAGA. The party needs to be lustrated of RINOs.

Trump has his work cut out for him. He needs to get the 20-30 percent of the Nikki voters back in his corner. He did it in 2016 with cruz voters. So it’s possible for him to do it again.

It’s just another political calculation by these “professional politicians”. Principles? Honoring their oath of office? You gotta be kidding me: Everything they say and do is a political calculation, designed to realize their primary — above all others — objective: To be re-elected.

Seems like the Republicans are getting their “Just wait til the next election. It will be a red wave” response for letting the Democrats steal the 2024 election.

I see you bought the media's narrative, hook, line and sinker. The fact is that those 20-30% were mostly Dem and phony independent cross-overs. They would never vote for Trump in the general anyway.

IMO-—a let handled Trump alot of voters with her strident attacks.

ALL I heard from her were attacks on Trump.

She never talked about “WHAT SHE WOULD DO TO TURN AMERICA AROUND”!!!!!
