A secret meeting between Elon Musk and Donald Trump has sent speculation swirling that the Tesla boss could bankroll the Republican presidential hopeful's campaign.

The two met on Sunday in Palm Beach, Florida, along with a few wealthy Republican donors, according to the New York Times.

Trump and his team are desperately seeking a cash injection to boost his presidential campaign.

Musk is currently the second richest man in the world, with an estimated fortune of $200billion. The Tesla founder has become more political in recent weeks and has been posting on social media platform X blasting Democrat Joe Biden's woke policies and the administration's handling of the border crisis.

Trump has privately praised the tech mogul to his allies and hopes to secure a one-on-one meeting soon, according to a source.

If he puts his money where his mouth (X posts) is, he certainly will - and a good investment it will be.

I would be surprised if Elon Musk has positive cash flow after dumping $40 billion into Twitter-X, which was worth around $10 billion - on its best day.

Musk also has intense pricing pressure from Chinese Electric Vehicle manufacturers.

Probably the only way Musk can help Trump is to borrow money, which is the only short term financial option for Trump, too.

Musk is picking his fights carefully. I’m impressed. With the Twitter sale there we’re times before it happened that I thought he was going to buy the Babylon Bee to correct that injustice. WOAH was I wrong with that guess. I have faith in Musk and in Trump...

I didn’t say anything about the RNC - my post was about direct contributions to candidates entirely.

A great thing about Musk is he has all the tools: The business & technical acumen and infrastructure, mega-capital and he understands he should use these resources for the betterment of the country.

Plus, he’s not just a behind-the-scenes guy, he can be a front man, too. Almost like a third member of the presidential ticket - if he and Trump are on the same page and Trump is okay with sharing the spotlight, so to speak.

You don’t even have to go block chain. Vis, Master Card, Discover, and Amex process millions of transactions a day and almost never make a mistake

If only voting required a $1 credit card charge, no debit, EBT, Zuckerbucks, gift cards, or cash accepted, it would be completely impossible for the Demonrats to ever win another election.

Elon can live with Trump for 4 years.

Then it'll be back to business as usual.

Bill Clinton was a "pragmatic" Democrat who was a little bit corrupt. But someone who we can work with.

Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton weren't really ideologues. Clinton was a typical politican. Carter was naive, I think that's the best word to describe him.
