Google's Culture of Fear
Pirate Wires ^ | 03/04/2024 | Mike Solana

Last week, following Google’s Gemini disaster, it quickly became clear the $1.7 trillion-dollar giant had bigger problems than its hotly anticipated generative AI tool erasing white people from human history. Separate from the mortifying clownishness of this specific and egregious breach of public trust, Gemini was obviously — at its absolute best — still grossly inferior to its largest competitors. This failure signaled, for the first time in Google’s life, real vulnerability to its core business, and terrified investors fled, shaving over $70 billion off the kraken’s market cap. Now, the industry is left with a startling question: how is it even possible for an initiative so important, at a company so dominant, to fail so completely?

How does that cliche go? “Get woke, go broke”. It’s just that simple.

Google is not going broke. Its value will increase, despite occasional dips. (And when you’re worth $1.7 Trillion, then $70 Billion is a mere dip.)

Thanks for posting.

All business that grow large run into some very tough problems—and it sounds like google hit the mother-load—any one of which is enough to destroy any company:

—Lack of leadership and vision with founder gone
—Bureaucratic power centers that entrench themselves but produce nothing of value—in this case the crazy HR folks
—Communication breakdown between employees and senior management “a culture of fear”
—Getting out of touch with the market. This can only be fixed with merit based hiring of marketing professionals—not happening at google.

They used to have a pickup truck in the Google parking lot that had every single right wing sticker known to man. I don’t know if it’s still there, but it was for years.

I guess IBM’s value has increased over the years—but it is a shadow of its former self.

That could be the future that faces Google in the next decade or two.

"Mortifying clownishness." Just another example of what I'm seeing more and more lately. Even low-info people are beginning to discover, better late than never, that the American Left is basically a bunch of "clownish" juveniles hopelessly indoctrinated by a gaggle of doddering '60s and '70s "activist" geezers.

Yep. Big firms never die. They live forever. Here’s the proof.

“how is it even possible for an initiative so important, at a company so dominant, to fail so completely?”

Simple really ... all AI products are simply computer programs. Computer programs are written by people. These specific computer programs are written by left-wing, hair-on-fire, woke fanatics. It is simply impossible to separate their politics from their code.

Asking any AI program for the solution to any question outside of a STEM related subject results in pure unadulterated bull-shiite.

“how is it even possible for an initiative so important, at a company so dominant, to fail so completely?”

Because Google is thoroughly leftist.

I don’t know what GOOG is. I do know that for DECADES I’ve heard conservative predict the death of Hollywood, the death of “legacy media,” the death of the New York Times — yet the media keeps getting more powerful, more leftist, and more wealthy.

“more powerful, more leftist, and more wealthy”

Powerful—debatable—read the polls on “trust in media”. If most people think you are lying is that “powerful”?

Leftist—correct

Wealthy—most newspapers and magazines are broke or gone—they are big money losers. The “wealthy” media are online—so the landscape has changed.

Google hires swarthy people. I was picking up my girlfriend at the SFO international terminal. Load after load of Indians were picked up in google vans. Give them white hating managers and this is what happens.

I have meditated on the deep inroads that Asian Indians have made in our technology. It’s part racism, fueled by their comfort with their Hindu caste systems.

It’s also that hinduism in general predisposes one to a humanist world view — and, immersed in technology, it’s only one short step into a deep and abiding faith in TRANShumanism— the ability that humans are the only god and can by themselves achieve immortality and a perfect life.

Put yet another way, satan’s fingerprints are all over what’s goin’ on.
