Sheesh. This is garbage. Anybody who has studied court cases and how judges behave knew he was making sure there would be no appearance of bias or impropriety on his part.
Now I may be wrong but find it unlikely.
Please come back in two weeks and we can talk. I am torn on which way this will go, so will be interesting to see how the Judge rules.

I agree. Additionally when you have an arrogant, loud mouth defendant like Fanni, you give them the rope to hang themself.
Sometimes the court allows a witness to behave badly to fully flesh out the characteristics of “Exhibit A” — being the person herself.
I like to see them as they really are, and allowing them just enough leeway to give an accurate impression often serves the cause of justice.
I think Catron’s screed is just that. Tired, everybody knows what he says before he says it, and frankly, just a pessimism of low expectations.
Wade, Willis and Bradley were pretty well BOXED in and are liars - cash, my patootie - PATHETIC. The defense’s closing arguments were powerful and that state’s summation was abysmal and nonsensical at best. You could see it on Willis’ face - she wasn’t pleased.
The judge will have to disqualify the pair on the basis of appearance of conflict of interests alone. If he believes (as he should) they actually DID have a conflict and LIED, the whole DA’s office might get disqualified because every one of the state’s lawyers knew and accepted perjury without objection.
If the Judge tosses Fani Willis off the case, he may lose his election in May, but he’d be a lock for a U.S. District Court nomination.
I’m sure he has this figured out.
I watched hearings - thought Scott McAfee handled well and will do right thing.
And if I were Wade or Willis, I would like to be thrown off so I can work on not being disbarred.
