You know, I mean, my word, we hope that people will help us as Americans, and continue to help us, and not make that sale, and protect our safety."

Uh, Mr. Dettlebach, even if you pay cash 'in a border state,' you still have to fill out a 4473 and receive a NICS check. That's all the 'paper trail' you demand with "universal background checks."
