Vice President Kamala Harris has broken with President Joe Biden to call for 'an immediate ceasefire' in Gaza.
Her comments, made during a speech in Selma, Alabama, on Sunday, are the strongest condemnation of Israel's conduct since the Oct. 7 Hamas attack by a senior member of the Biden administration.
They came just a day before she is due to meet with a top Israeli official to discuss a potential ceasefire deal and a day after the US began air-dropping aid to the war-torn country,
'Before I begin I must address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza,' Harris said. 'What we are seeing every day in Gaza is devastating.'
Citing the 'immense scale of suffering' in the war-torn nation, she stressed 'there must be an immediate ceasefire for at least the next six weeks'.
'This will get the hostages out and get a significant amount of aid in. This will allow us to build something more enduring to ensure Israel is secure and to respect the right of Palestinian people to dignity, freedom and self-determination,' Harris said.
Her comments mark a departure from the more cautious approach so far favored by Biden, as he struggles to strike a balance between the US' role as an ally to Israel, with growing international outrage over its bombing of Gaza.

Let Harris, or anyone on the left, articulate what the “Palestinian” long term peace plan, two state, etc. is. Then cease fires can be possible.

There is no leadership in the White House. Now that it’s a failing administration and a stolen election may not happen because of Trump’s margin of victory, everyone connected to Biden is scrambling for their political future as a Democrat and anti-Semitism is a foundational piece for the Leftist base.

Okay Kamala, what of our own border? I fear in one year there will be more rapes, killings, kidnappings and more by November and beyond than the number of Israeli’s murdered on Oct 7th.

She is NOT “breaking.” This is a trial balloon, with Biden to follow in a few days if the blockback isn’t too bad. the White House is furious that Israel torpedoed a “hostage-ceasefire deal” which Biden himself predicted would happen tomorrow.
It can be over tomorrow if Hamas unconditionally surrenders and returns all the hostages…. or their bodies. Short of that, Israel should keep on with the war effort.
How about:
one hostage freed -> no aerial bombing for 24 hours
There also should be an incentive to release more than one a day. Perhaps a 12-hour bonus for every one after the first on any day.
Release 4 hostages on Tuesday = 4 days + 36 hours no aerial bombing
Under my proposal, most Gazans would have a personal incentive to free hostages and Israel might be able to wait patiently. Also, Israel would not have to release terrorists so they can get a chance to kill again.
Harris has already established herself as one of the absolute dumbest of the dumb. Now she’s sealing the deal with this load of malarky.

Yes, her ego is forcing her to push forward so no one will think she will go quietly when Joe is gone and they say now get her off the ticket, too.
Also, she is a stalking horse for the new all out betrayal of Israel by the Dems. If she gets more popular it means they will sell out Israel and let it sink.
If not then Biden will try to do his phony caring stuff a few months longer.
