Nikki Haley will win the Washington, D.C., Republican presidential primary, netting her first victory of the GOP nominating process, Decision Desk HQ projects.
Haley garnered 1,274 votes to former President Trump’s 676 with all precincts reporting, according to DDHQ.
The win for the former United Nations ambassador breaks a streak of more than a half dozen victories for Trump to start out the GOP contests for the nomination. It’s a much-needed triumph for Haley to show she can top Trump somewhere, but she still has a long road ahead of her.

1,950 votes cast.
Republican enrollment: 22,566 8.6% of the enrolled republicans went out to vote.
I suspect turnout in Maine is going to be half of that. As of Friday, only 1,500 of 50,000 registered voters in Portland Maine had voted absentee.
Portland usually get 10,000 to 14,000 absentee voters.
Bingo!
My hat is off to the 676 Republicans toughing it out in DC!
lolz.
LOL, it’s D.C.
Very, very telling.
No impartial juries against Trump there. /s🙄
She’s the preferred candidate of the swamp… no surprises there.
Well, if this doesn’t PROVE everything we have been saying, then there is no Santa Claus.
That GEM area is THE place to take Pres Trump to Court.
The BUMS.
Hey, it's the only one that really counts, right?
It is now all over for Donald Trump....
It’s actually impressive to me that Trump got 33% in the citadel of the swamp, DC.
It’s tragic that all those great museums, monuments, and historic places — not to mention our governing body — are now situated in the middle of a snakepit which hates the country and anyone who is a patriot.
DC’s economy is based on graft. Sure there are service businesses, but they would dry up without the graft. Haley is part of the graft system. Trump is its enemy.
D.C. = Degeneracy of Communists
Wow, she had 1,300 votes. It was a big turn out.
The National Capitol should be moved closer to the center of population. All of the agencies currently in place should have sunset days specified by law. And never again should the Capitol of the federal Republic be kept in any one place for more than 20 years straight. For Leonard Wood would be an excellent location for all 10,000 federal workers in the Capitol or over half the federal workforce.
Why does the Republican Party even have a primary in DC and award 19 delegates? Letting DC residents vote seems like more of a Democrat thing.
That was a lot.
