Amish people go into Lancaster County Courthouse for a hearing regarding farmer Amos Miller's raw-dairy business on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024.
Upper Leacock farmer Amos Miller cannot sell raw milk or dairy products made from it to the public under an order issued by a Lancaster County judge Friday afternoon.
Judge Thomas Sponaugle’s order also allows the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture to inspect any location where Miller packages or distributes raw milk and to test Miller’s dairy products.
The ruling is a win for the agriculture department, which sought to prevent Miller from producing and selling raw milk and products while its lawsuit against him plays out.

LET FREEDOM RING! THIS is NOT America! People can poison themselves with any milk they want to drink. If I was the Sheriff, I would ignore the order to apprehend him.
We drank raw milk all my life through to my teenage years. Used to skim the cream off the top for ice cream, shakes etc.
There was aa thought at one time .though that crohn’s disease and certain other bowel diseases might have been caused by raw milk, but I don’t think that ever panned out to be true
I don’t know this country anymore
farmers been selling raw milk for centuries with no problems
bout the same time line for cow’s flatulence with no problems
The bacteria count of fresh milk out of the bulk tank is LOWER than out of ANY of the new PLASTIC milk containers at the store.
This should be completely legal.
It is how milk was always used, throughout time.
Miller apparantly has some customers who drive hundreds of miles to buy his products, because they and their children are unable to consume any other store-bought products. He does not have a single complaint against him from anyone who has bought his products.
If I ever drank raw milk it would have been over 50 years ago when I was a wee lad. I do remember drinking goat milk, and probably drank cow milk too.
Cant believe the idiot laws we have in this country.
Agreed. We used to take a trip every Saturday to the farm which sold us the milk, and that was half the fun as we would go out for an ice cream on the way back. Was jusyna good time for the family. Plus it tasted so good too, the milk I mean. We d always leave a little cream in the milk as we liked it that way.
We had goats too, but I never could get used to the taste of that milk- it even smelled bad lol. But we would mix it with cow milk, which cut down on the taste a bit. Then we went through hard times and had to drink powdered milk for awhile- not, sure which was worse, goat or the powdered milk
Except that raw milk “can contain” several pretty severe microbes like e-coli- and sure, ecoli can get through in pasteurized milk too, every now and again, but it is rarer I beleive than from drinking raw milk.
Here was the article on crohns and milk”, and how it “might have caused” crohns, but again, it was an old article, and I haven’t heard recent studies suggesting it

Pennsylvania is becoming California.
“Its good they are cracking down on Amish poisoning people with raw milk when there is so much safe processed food available.”
I grew up on a farm drinking raw milk, and all of humanity from the dawn of history has drunk raw milk until it was innovated a short time ago.
I almost missed your sarcasm.
Poisoning people? You seem to forget pasteurization is a modern day process..People been drinking raw milk since Man was created
Does anyone know if he is restricted from donating it? People can donate to take the milk off his hands.
He doesn’t sell it in stores. He only sells to people who come to him specifically looking to buy the natural/organic food he produces. Why the hell is it the government’s business to tell me what I can and cannot eat?
It would be one thing if it were in stores and were not labeled. That is not the case here. People know exactly what his food is and go out of their way to buy it.
*hand slaps forehead*. Your sarcasm went right over my head initially.
Mea Culpa.
