He didn’t start late in life. He’s never had any sincere values and has always been a hack who would say or do whatever was momentarily expedient.

I agree with everything you say. He was a disgusting, virulent loud-mouth racist his whole life. But I still think he seems to have morphed into a disgusting, virulent loud-mouth HATE-AMERICA racist the past 20 years.
