True. We could replace Clarence Thomas with Ted Cruz.
To: MinorityRepublican
That will be his lasting legacy. Denying Garland a seat on SCOTUS was historic.
Leading can be helped by the second in command. But stopping unconstitutional laws requires deep knowledge on the constitution. I don’t know if Cruz is capable of assembling a functioning team that can raise funds, whip the senators to stick together on things, and be an intelligent and vocal representative of Republican senators.
Mitch always thought he was above explaining

Which is why we may be better off if we pick somebody else instead. We need somebody who can maneuver behind the scenes. Mitch had showed us that he had the ability to do that. So we need somebody with that kind of ability.

There isn’t anyone. I like Rick Scott, but I don’t see him having the strength to do the job or the depth of knowledge of the constitution to bring it back to the position of importance it deserves.
This isn’t a game.

From the link:
it is notable that, as far as I know, not a single Republican has expressed regret at his decision.
Indeed it is.

Talking heads say his name will be John. Either Thune, Cornyn or Barrasso. UGH! I'm sure you're right... :-(

How did I not know you were a Freeper? You were , in many ways, the equal of Peter, and as far as instruments, drums beat flute.

I’m not the famous singer. I know. You’re the replacement singer from a band called Genasis.
