Democratic presidential candidate and Minnesota Congressman Dean Phillips reasserted on X over the weekend that he would not pursue a third party bid for the presidency as it would help Republican Donald Trump.
Phillips initially ruled out an independent or third party run, namely as a No Labels candidate, back in late January but then hinted at being open to a joint campaign with Republican Nikki Haley in a radio interview last week. “I think it’s a conversation that Ambassador Haley and I should have if that’s what this comes down to,” Phillips said to WCCO on Thursday when asked if he would consider being the vice presidential nominee of an independent Nikki Haley ticket.
However, Phillips posted to X on Saturday that he’s not changing his mind about running outside of the Democratic Party, at least as a presidential candidate, stating “I won’t run on top of a third-party ticket as it would benefit Trump.”
Phillips also shared several related thoughts about the election, including that Dr. Cornel West, Dr. Jill Stein, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are peeling “~6%” of the vote from Democratic President Joe Biden. He additionally emphasized that another Republican must run as an independent or third party candidate to draw away votes from Republican frontrunner and former President Donald Trump, warning that Trump could win in November otherwise.

...yes. A major disruption to their plans.
I love the panic that’s setting on them. They’re more depressed every day and it’s showing on their faces and body language.
At this point, Haley only takes votes from demonrats
Exactly—the pearl clutchers and concern trolls around here need to start paying attention.
This is going to be our year.
Agreed—it gives folks with TDS an excuse not to vote for Biden.
2020 was also our year. The rioting was certain to turn voters against the Democrats.
Yet the Democrats "won" anyway.
They've had four years to improve their election fraud techniques. Plus millions more migrants and "new citizens" to facilitate their fraud.
I understand—but in some of the key states (and I can’t speak for Michigan) the Republicans have tightened up their defenses against voter cheating.
If 5% of the Democrats stay home or vote third party that should be enough...
I would not panic just yet.
There is a fine line between legitimate concern and paranoia—you may be drifting over the line.
;-)
They were surprised by Kennedy and Vivek. And Kamala is a nightmare they can’t hide. The Migrants have shown that BLM is not what matters and never did.
