Arguing the 8’th is fine If it comes down to having ro do that, BUT, it is the fsct that the whole stinking trial was corrupt, and he shouldn’t have to pay a dime because he did nothing wrong. The trial and verdict should be thrown out and the judge and prosecutors severely punished for abusing their authority and positions!

I think Trump has a strong case under the No State shall make a Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts clause of the Constitution as well as the 8th Amendment.

Both apply directly to the Erogon Case

In light that there were no claims of harm by anyone, ANY fine would be excessive. This a purely political witch hunt and this type of seizure amounts to theft by the government. And even worse, the judge said that he had to pay a half billion dollars just to appeal! This has to be one of the worst miscarriages of justices with no victim ever.

The judge and prosecutors ought to be disbarred.

"They have always looked at it as a living document that changes with the times."

And changed to whom it is applied depending whose ox is getting gored.

I agree- their actions were so aggreguous that even some of the more objective and honest democrats understand how corrupt the judgement is

They have always looked at it as a living document that changes with the times.

Per the late and great Justice Anthony Scalia, "The only thing wrong with a living constitution is that will destroy The Constitution!"

Yes. James and her creepy commie puppet judge trampled all over Trumps right to mount a defense, free speech, due process and excessive punishment. This puts the appeal on SCOTUS docket. I hope that James and the judge get disbarred for this travesty of justice.

Eighth Amendment

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Note to New York Times and Washington Post Bimbos: The liberal 'judge' is stupid.

We live in Post-Constitutional America, so that doesn’t matter anymore.

Excellent article, thanks for posting it.

There is a linked article within Daniel Street's article you posted, that is a very good read as well, and I suggest people read that one, too:
