Also!!!! They will drum up the Latino vote. They will as every election, scare the crap and piss off Mexicans, Hondurans, El Salvadorians, Guatemalans with stories of abuse at the border, mass deportations if Trump wins, children being in cages at the border...
And the Republicans will lose this battle and quite frankly IMHO they have just written those 62 million people off, about 1/6 of the population!

That's a HUGE chunk of voters that are written off and other than the Cubans who still are conservative (they really hate the commies in Cuba), the right has lost these folks not because of the ideology (these are Catholics and aren't really pro abortion, LGBTQIA, etc) but because of the fear mongering, fake racist narrative, etc.
Hispanics in much of the Southwest have been there since before the United States existed. Many wanted to get away from Mexico.
The whole idea of some dust-up among Mexicans, Central Americans and the United States is all induced by the powers that be. The Americas (ideally) should all be places people want to live.
If Central American pay was half the amount but cost of living was also half the price they wouldn’t come here.
It’s better if they stay where they are, we’ll trade with them and they can enjoy their own country.
As for the other people from outside North America they have no business on this continent.
