A three-year-old girl was brutally beaten to death by two young suspects while her mother allegedly went to the casino to gamble with a friend.
Terica Scott, 26, and Dineshia Yates, 26, were each charged with one count of principal to simple battery and principal to second-degree murder in the death of Blessings Buckles, according to records obtained by Law&Crime.
The unnamed juveniles - ages 10 and 12 - were detained and each charged with one count of battery and second-degree murder.
On February 12, deputies with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office responded to a call at around 3:45PM after getting reports of an unresponsive three-year-old girl at a home on the 3300 block of O'Neal Lane.
At the time of the call, the caller - who identified themselves as a child - told the dispatcher that there were no adults in the home, a release from the sheriff's department reads.
As they arrived on the scene, first responders reported seeing the two women pulling into the driveway of the home with their hazard lights on.
The women would inform police that they had left the children at the home while they had gone to the casino, with the ages of the children inside the home ranging from 11 months to 12 years old. Authorities would later determine that Scott was the mother and aunt of the two older children while Yates was the mother of Blessings.
Blessings was resuscitated at the home by emergency medical personnel and rushed to hospital for treatment, where she was admitted as being in critical condition. She would later succumb to her injuries and was pronounced dead on Feb 14.
The toddler suffered a brain bleed as well as bruising to the face and body which were likely caused by blunt force trauma...

Fortunately, that is not something I would have attempted!
Is it possible that the two women killed the child before they left for the casino and then later put the blame on the other children?
I see my musing was wrong. Now my question is whether the women were actual blood relatives or were they a couple? I ask this because of other high profile cases of child abuse in such arrangements.
“actual blood relatives”
probably just ‘welfare’ relatives — you know, tied together by ‘money going to the same adult.’
“Terica “ ???? Was I right?
“Dineshia”???? Was I right?
Yup.

FERAL BARBARIANS
This is a horrific indictment of the degeneration of American society, not just the ignorant gambling mother and cruel murdering women.
What has happened to this country? It is ruined.
No need to LOOK after reading their names!!
“were detained and each charged with one count of battery and second-degree murder.”
It doesn’t matter. NOTHING will happen to them.
1. Special “class”.
2. Juveniles.
3. Our F’ed up court system will reduce charges, defer adjudication, probation, counseling with anger management classes.
ANIMALS!
They should get the death penalty.
NOT lethal injection, but beaten to death by a group of huge men. NO MERCY!
Giving them a slap on the wrist is condemning future innocents to death.
We need to enact some common sense gaming control.
Just a very late abortion, nothing to worry about.
Just a thought... whose money were they gambling with? How did they get it? Selling their food stamps? Cash from buying something for someone else on their EBT card?
Proceeds from weed sales? Streetcorner jobs? Disability payments? Welfare? SSI payments from the death of an older child killed while robbing a stop & rob?
Used car sales?
Just wondering, asking for a friend.
Dear Lord, where is Your light? π
British paper telling truths about American life...
Took one look at the headline. Knew instantly.
CPS is useless. Full of white, leftard suburban divorced/single women who are anti-father, anti-Trump and are self hating.
My husband’s ex shrew was one of them.
Yep. I was one of them and my daughter was defacto child care for me when she was 12 (her 6 yr old brother)
