The Biden administration recently issued direct warnings to the Russian government against deploying a nuclear-capable anti-satellite weapon, U.S. officials confirmed to CBS News. The warning was part of a broader diplomatic push that has also involved urging the Indian and Chinese governments, among others, to weigh in directly with Moscow.
The talks come after a warning from House Intelligence Committee chairman Mike Turner, Republican of Ohio — who issued a cryptic statement last week regarding a "serious national security threat" — propelled the matter to public prominence.
White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby later said Turner's concern was related to a space-based "anti-satellite capability" being developed by Russia, but added the capability had not yet been deployed and did not pose any immediate threat to American citizens.

I wonder with all the satellites going up in space from all over the world, how would you know if a few of them contained a small nuclear weapon.
Maybe Mossad would tell us. 👍😁😝
dang cheaters ..
I’ll bet the Ruskies are shaking in their boots.
yeah ok, US warns with stupid in control?
I see the showdowns, slowdowns, lost and found, turn arounds
The boys in the military shirts
To be fair…I’m sure the letter was strongly worded!
They’ve violated every nuclear arms treaty we’ve ever had anyway. Why bother writing letters?
A couple of decades ago, I worked with a retired military officer who had worked at a land based chemical laser facility that he said was capable of disabling overhead satellites. He said that they were working at making it airborne, but that it was difficult to contain all the chemical tanks in an airplane.
If we could disable satellites a quarter century ago, I can’t imagine that we can’t do an even better job now. If so, all it would take to disable any Russian space based atomic weapon is a quiet zap!, any time we wished. The Russian satellite would simply become “non-responsive”, one of the perils of space.
Russian nukes in space pfffft. Are we not doing the same thing with the XB-37 spacecraft? Think about it. Its a classified military misson not a NASA mission
