Maine Lawmakers Urge Cabela’s to Stop Selling ‘Assault Rifles’ After Attacker Bought Handgun There

Forty-five Maine lawmakers are pressuring Cabela’s to stop selling AR-15s and other firearms Democrats describe as “assault rifles,” noting the October 25, 2023, Lewiston attacker bought a handgun from the retail giant.

Lawmakers did not explain what buying a handgun has to do with buying an AR-15, but they are pushing for Cabela’s to drop the sales of AR-15s anyway.

WGME noted that the push is being led by State Rep. Lori Gramlich (D), and that she the other 44 lawmakers sent a letter to Cabela’s which said, in part:

Yep I know, I grew up in the south of Maine almost. Such a beau5iful state, but ruined by immorality and liberal rule now. Back when I lived there, it was stil. Very conservative, but we saw the writ8ng on the wall as more and more liberal politics came in. Such a shame that Maine has gone moonbat in the areas that determine the gov. there. I was super hopeful when Lepage won there and ruled. Not that I will ever get back there likely, but I would love to see Maine get back to a super majority conservative and correct the damage that the liberal half-whits did to that gorgeous state
