Sounds like the Ukrainian leadership is in turmoil. Wasn’t General Zaluzhnyi just canned for pushing to increase the draft? That was my impression, but maybe there was more to it than that.

It’s not a deadlock it’s a slow grind that Russia is slowly but inevitably winning. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen sustained Ukrainian gains.

Along the frigid and muddy front line, commanders say their army is too small and made up of too many exhausted and wounded soldiers. Russia has (had) a population of about 142 million. Ukraine has (had) a population of about 43 million.
With a 1:1 loss exchange ratio Ukraine will run out of Ukrainians before Russia will run out of Russians.
